Free Music Review: Better then you think

Once again I am making the same argument that I have made before. What the hell is nu-metal anyways? I'm just glad that some other people share the same belief as me. Anyways, this album should not (but it will) be lumped in with the obscure title of nu-metal. I think the best way to sum up the sound of new killer america is if you were to take the rap elements out of linkin park. I'm not sure exactly why I keep coming up with this comparison in my head, they don't sound the same but it just makes sense in my head. Anyways, this album is strong, melodic and intriguing enough to draw you back to it a couple of times. One similarity it has to another "nu-metal" band, the deftones, is that no matter how many times you listen to it you won't learn all of the words. The lyrics fit well with in the music, but are used more like an instrument then a focal point, something that I contribute as a characteristic of the Deftones. Listen in you are into heavier music without the growling or rapping, then this is a pretty good bet. In hindsight, I'm not sure it really deserves five stars, but there aren't that many albums of this style that stand out enough to me that I keep going back to them. So on late-night replay value alone i give it five big ones and urge you to spend you pocket change on this one used.
