This album is a certifiable classic that has lost none of its power since it first came out twenty-two years ago. I am amazed to think that I was in high school when it came out and now I am almost forty--it sounds as fresh now as it did then (much more than I can say of a lot of other music from that era). I have listened to much thrash, death, and black metal off and on in the intervening years and found that, however great some of those acts were (from Dark Angel and Death to Satyricon and Immortal), NOTHING has ever surpassed Slayer's mighty _Reign in Blood_ in terms of aggression and fury.
I wouldn't let my daughter listen to this stuff--I have a feeling that it would permanently scar her mentally.

One word: BILGE. Can King come up with lyrics beyond that of a 4th grader?
Additionally, it's hard for me to take Kerry King seriously with a porcupine on his arm. Is this guy for real? If I turned up the distortion pedal on my guitar and played as fast and unmelodically as I could, I think I could sound that that moron. I'll take Adrian Smith over King or Hanneman any day.
