Free Music Notes for DawnseekerFree Music Review: Claudia you couldn't hear a train wreck, much less a good record. Hit: 5 Stars
It must really suck being you Claudia.
Clearly, you haven't had any real gratifying experiences of late. You seem bitter, detached, and well - just really angry about this music. I've disliked records before - heck, music is a matter of personal preference and since this record doesn't meet your criteria why even comment on it? You wreak of jealousy and envy, Claudia. I have an idea, why don't you go crawl back under your lonely rock, and leave matters of taste to those who have some. You'll fair much better in your
miserable outlook, and you'll have more time to focus on why your life truly sucks rather than projecting it onto others.
Oh, I love the record by the way, and well - I'm in the industry, so there goes that pedestrian theory. Try and relax once in a while. Take some time off - go for a walk. Force yourself to smile once in a while. Most of all, stay away from the computer or i will tell your DADDY!
Free Music Review: Vivid and Dreamlike, Words can't do this justice! Hit: 5 Stars
Sleepthief's debut album "The Dawnseeker" took me by storm when I bought it on my 24th birthday of November 3, 2006. I had not felt this way since Amethystium's "Odonata" more than five years earlier. Sleepthief is very similar in a sense to Amethystium, Blue Stone, and even Ryan Farish yet however also is very different altogether at the same time. Where as Amethystium is simplistic atmospheric New Age, and Blue Stone more edgier and heavier, Sleepthief's sound can only be described as gritter, much more gray and even slightly mainstream.
"You Did A Good Thing" is one of the most moving New Age songs that I think I've heard in quite a long time. Quite a long time indeed. The song begins with a haunting austere intro and morphs into a beautiful, moving piece while maintaining it's austerity throughout.
Free Music Review: The CD That Keeps On Giving! Hit: 5 Stars
The Dawnseeker is one of those few CD's that you never stop listening to. Even though it is a few years old now I continually find myself playing it. The choice of female vocals to accompany the music is phenomenal - these women have some of the most beautiful voices out today. I am not a huge fan of cover songs but The Metro and The Chauffeur are both great examples of how a remake can successfully be done. This has been accomplished in not just a good, but a great way.
I have found myself over and over giving this CD as a birthday gift or another holiday gift trying to introduce new people to the music. This is a CD you would wish to share with everyone.
Pure talent, beautiful music, phenomenal singers...you cannot go wrong.
Free Music Review: this is what i have been looking for Hit: 5 Stars
It has been a long time since I have been excited about music. I found this album by listening to a conjure one radio station on pandora. Over the course of a week, I was introduced to Sleepthief, Blue Stone, OceanLab, Ulrich Schnouss, and Tracey Thorn (immediately recognized her from Everything but the Girl). Finding all of this in one week was more or less overload.
Dawnseeker has almost overnight jumped to my favorite album. Its too early to know if it will hold that claim forever, but I am excited by the possibility. This is the first actual CD I have purchased in years... just buying the MP3's wasn't enough.
If you have not used Pandora before, I highly recommend it. I would have never found Sleepthief without it.
Free Music Review: Silky Smooth Female Fronted Electronica Hit: 5 Stars
This album came with a sticker on the jewel case that said "The album is auditory nirvana". I couldn't agree more. This album has depth and is trance inducing. It is so beautiful, on multiple levels. It is sexy and silky smooth. There are a few sad notes, but it is uplifting too, even uplifting enough to take you to another plane of emotion. It is very well put together; I did not notice a single flaw. All of the female vocalists contribute wonderfully to the mix. The layering of the music is incredible. If you, like me, are looking forward to Sleepthief's next production, consider Amethystium, Mythos, Blue Stone, Balligomingo, and Delerium to tide you over until then. They are all fabulous artists.
