Free Music Notes for All Hope Is Gone (Special Edition CD/DVD)Free Music Review: Let's roll the clock back a few year's ago Hit: 5 Stars
When the 3rd installment was made, every non-loyal maggot struck out in protest "oh it suck's,it's not Slipknot anymore",perhaps' they lost their vision on the master's behind the mask's. Change is a necessary cause in the music industry, for one,no one want's to here the same crap over and over, especially if it's the same band,or unless it's the same cd. An example of consistent change in sound would be another favorite of mine;KoRn. Yet no one exclaim's,no one lash's out in protest, when KoRn started out very heavy, well, for their style of music.Sure, their stuff is lighter now, but,it's more mature.
Same case with Slipknot,in case anyone missed the review for 3rd album, they mentioned, they viewed the world differently than when they first started, not as angry. This album is fantastic, all element's are applied, except for country,ew. Some acoustic, metal(obviously),rock, all the good stuff. I wouldn't say there's a low point on this album, unless there's a large amount of non-loyal Slipknot fan's out there who just want a head banger's ball of an album. I recommend this album for true fan's only,if you aren't one, then buy a few more copy's of Iowa or the self-titled.
Free Music Review: a dose of every album, with a new album sound Hit: 5 Stars
First off, I think this album is great. Ive been a fan since they started in '99. there is at least one song on this cd that sounds like each other album. Including, Wherein Lies Continue sounding like the first album, Gematria sounding like Iowa, and a few songs sounding like Vol III. however, there are a few songs that sound very similar to Stone Sour. Now, they are great too, but i thought the concept was to keep the two seperate. And here, they didnt. Even though Gehenna fell into this catagory, it remains a experimental and breakthrough song for Slipknot. They have captured the "Sing-A-Long Bash your head against the nearest wall, rock chorus...." If you do purchase, upgrade to the special edition. The extra 5 or 7 bucks is so worth it. The booklet is bigger, the 3 songs make the money worth it alone, and the dvd is fun to watch for the 35 minutes it lasts. Very similar to "Inside the Nine" DVD. All in all, worth my twenty bucks, and hasnt left my cd player since i got it the first day. I scream my lungs out to every line.
Free Music Review: All Hope is Gone is definitely not the case! Hit: 5 Stars
Being a huge Corey Taylor fan, my opinion is semi bias. One thing that I can promise you is, this album (All Hope is Gone) is nothing like their self titled album, Iowa, or Vol 3 The Subliminal Verses. Creating their fourth album with different perspective, different recording style, and brand new lyrics... has turned into a matured Slipknot masterpiece.
These nine guys have different personalities, different recording tactics and styles. Each single member of Slipknot brings different artistic ideas to the table and to this record. One thing for sure, these guys know how to rock and can pull off any type of project that is given to them!
All Hope is Gone is by far their best album yet! Slipknot shows you that they are a band who will never break up and better yet.... give us Maggots security that there is indeed more to Slipknot that we have not yet seen!
All Hope is Gone not only gives us hope for future projects by Slipknot, but All Hope is Gone is a remarkable and refreshing album!
Free Music Review: All I Hoped for, and then some. Hit: 5 Stars
A stunning return to form by the crew. After a blistering debut album, Slipknot didn't achieve the highs of that record with their next offerings. Although each was a good album, none had been able to rival that debut record, until now. This album offers it all, the blistering drum attacks that have become a trademark. Slamming guitars and percussions to make your head fall off from moshing. Then the growling, snarling and spitting vocals we've come to know and love. This album also offers some more melodic numbers so we can all marvel at the sweet sounding singing voice behind the snarl of norm. This album has the hook lines that'll keep you humming songs days after you last listened. It has songs that you want to listen to over and over again. It has power to please those who want to listen to something heavy while having the melody many heavy music lacks. I won't say this album is better than their debut, but its definitely on a par. Buy it.
Free Music Review: Pure Talent!!! Hit: 5 Stars
The new slipknot album is amazing. Im going to be honest i new the cd would be good, but i didn't realize it would be this good. The problem with bands today is they have a first hit cd and they quickly go down hill on each cd they put out after that. Slipknots only get better. This cd was well put together as a whole. Each song has something a little different about it and still harder than ever. Much more musical talent, and less confusion. They have gotten so much better as a band and by the way they work and put music together. You can hear more of Corey Taylors smoother vocals which i think helps and gives it some variety. He has a great voice. Can't wait for the next one and the next Stone Sour. Keep rocking.
P.S. Corey Taylor if you ever read this put out a solo album just so you can do a bunch of songs like Snuff, Zzyzx Rd., Bother, Vermilion Pt. 2, and Through Glass. Im a fan of the softer stuff. Come to Tallahassee, Florida!
