All Hope is Gone is as good or better then Slipknot's self titled album. While the raw passion and head slamming riffs and beats still permeate through the album, the maturity of the music indicates a clear progression of Slipknot's growth as artists. It may be an album that is being more accepted into the mainstream but is that really a bad thing? I think it's about time that more people can see Slipknot, not just as crazy headbangers with scary masks, but as the gifted artists that they are. And as far as the comparisons to Stone Sour go, don't you think of Slipknot when you listen to Stone Sour? I'd say we're pretty lucky that Cory and Jim are such diverse and prolific song writers.
All in all, Great Album. A must buy if you like Slipknot or enjoy well crafted, hard hitting metal.

Not being a big Slipknot fan to begin with except for a couple songs like'the blister exists' I didn't expect too much out of this album either. Then I saw the video to Psychosocial and thought if the rest of this is as good as this song then the cd might be worth getting. So I bought the cd and in my personal opinion the whole thing is the best Slipknot has ever done. This is coming from a person that is a fan of death metal and listens to alot heavier and harder music than this. I just like this album period. I have it in my stereo at home and it gets played at least once a day. I don't care what direction some think Slipknot has taken and they might not like but I do like this cd and now hope Slipknot sticks around for more like it.Free Music Review: For all the haters......your 5 Stars
Read all the reviews from negative to positive. I'm a life long fan of this band. Refrained from buying this album for awile because I belived the negative reviews and thought I would be wasting my money. Got it on sale and yet again kicking myself in the butt for believing the dummys for a lack of a better word that this album sucked. If your a true fan of Slipknot, this album is just as good as the others. All I Did was picture myself at a Slipknot concert live playing this whole album set. There would be nothing but true dancing to all to 70% of the tracks. The rest is still great but just watchable without dancing if you know what I mean. 1000 stars all the way. alright, everyone knows about slipknot. if ya dont, get out from under the rock you live under. that being said, i was really surprised at how the music sounded for the new album. i enjoyed the last one, and i also enjoyed IOWA. i wasnt a fan of the s/t album as most "maggots" are. i dont consider myself a maggot, im more of a casual listener. in the end, this album is an evolution of the last album. if you enjoyed the last one, then this one may also do the trick. there more thrash riffs on this one. and less acoustic songs. thank god for that, i liked circle on vol. 3 but vermillion pt 2 sucked imo. its heavy, catchy and pissed off. which is how i like my music.Free Music Review: Why so much Hate for the knot!

Slipknot's all hope is gone was great! in my Book...im reading alot of reviews hating on them cause they say its not heavy enough..Then what the H .E Double Hockey sticks are you listening to..ive been a fan since there self title..and yes im not gonna lie the Band that we hear in all Hope is gone..is not the same slipknot..But Being in a band is not about making the same album year after year..There music is growing and taking new BUT NOT BAD PATHS!..In all hope is gone you get the best of slipknot yet..There Most Crushing Brutal stuff Mixed with the lightest stuff they have ever done..but none of it is bad i enjoyed it very much..5 Stars.
