Free Music Notes for SlipknotFree Music Review: Slipknot: A breakthrough for the band Hit: 5 Stars
I am one of those people who do not classify Slipknot as Nu-metal, even if they have some turntable scraching. I classify this album as "Metal", but all that aside, many would agree with me that this is a pretty incredible album!
1. 742617000027: This is a 36 second sample of the sentence "The whole thing I think is sick" and is reffering to a Charles Manson documentary. In my opinion, a classic intro. ?/10
2. (Sic): This song is classic, Craig does a good job here with some memorable samples, Joey, Chris and Shawn are AMAZING on this one and Corey's haunting and angry vocals are memerable. A classic song! 10/10
3. Eyeless: A great song. Corey's vocals are good, if a little repetitive. Sid is good on DJ as well, and the guitarists and bass are wild. This is another standout on the album. 10/10
4. Wait and Bleed: I seem to like all the tracks, don't I? Well this track is one that I always play, no matter how repetitive it is. It's not very long, it's only a little over 2:00, but it's a short and sweet burst of Some more mellow style of music, and some heavier stuff.
5. Surfacing: The ultimate hate anthem! It's not my favourite, but it is a good song. Mick's guitar is sweeeeet on this track, and Corey does a great job as usual. I know some people may consider the lyrics explicit and perhaps controversial, but Slipknot aren't evil, they just realise their anger in their mudic. Fine by me, I guess 8/10
6. Spit It Out: I like this track. Many people hate this song how it has a little rap vocals in it, and don't get me wrong, I am not a huge fan of rap, but I think it goes well with the music. Craig does and excellent job here. 9.5/10
7. Tattered and Torn: This is actually a very old song, it's a remake of the 1997 version which was during the MFKR (Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat) era, which was when Slipknot did not have 9 members, and many of the members are not in Slipknot anymore. This is a good song once you get past the long intro, Craig is great in this song as yuo can hear what he is doing clearly. A very odd and short song, but a good song. 8.5/10
8. Me Inside: I actually don't like this song very much. It was placed on the album to replace Frail Limg Nursery and Purity, which was a song about a girl that was buried and so on (I'm not going to rave on about it), but the story was that Corey found a article on Crimescene.com, thought it was real, and wrote a song about it. It was taken off because of legal issues, but if you are a keen hunter you can sniff out the Slipknot Digi-pak and listen to it. Me Inside is not the best on the album overall: 6.5/10
9. Liberate: This another hard track. A brilliant track live and equally good studio. Corey's angry vocals and Sids DJ work stay in your head like they stay in mine. A good angry track for the bitter minded. 8/10
10. Prosthetics: This is a very bizarre track. Some good sampling from Craig again, but this track is not a highlight. Quite long for Slipknot tracks, but it doesn't mean you are going to hear lot's of the best song on the album. 7/10
11. No Life: This is the period of the album where it starts getting so angry it will fall apart and Corey will lose it. This song is very angry and twisted, and has some good guitar and some great drumming from Joey. A great song! 9/10
12. Diluted: This song is an angry beast (lol). Some very sad and painful lyrics from Corey, and some awesome crunching guitar. This is an awesome song to play loud. A highlight of the album, definately! 10/10
13. Only One: As we near the depressing and angry end of the album, we get a chance to prepare for the monstrous climax. Only One has some weird effects at the start, which are soon followed by a roll by Joey, then the song boots up and Corey's rap like vocals follow. A very good track to prepare you for Scissors. 9/10
14. Scissors: This is it, ladie's and gents. The moment we've been waiting for. Scissors is an awesome album ender which is equally as classic as the track "Iowa". A 17 - minute monster that rages on. Corey has never sounded more depressed and angry then when we sings this track. All of his aggression built up in previous songs comes spewing out in this track, and by the end of this track, Corey finally snaps and bursts into tears. If you have the patience to wait around for a few minutes, you will find a cool surprise at the end of the album, that's why this song is sooo long. AN ANGRY AND EMOTIONAL TRAINWRECK!!! 10/10
Now it's the moment when you stop reading me ramble on, and when you go out and buy this album. Quick, quick!!!!
Free Music Review: Oh f**k off already Hit: 5 Stars
...I tip my hat to Slipknot, for they have come a long way, even with these heathens screaching about how bad they are. This CD, along with Metallica's 'Ride...' were the albums that got me into the world of metal, so I this album gets even more praise. Listen, if you truly listen to the album, there's really no comparison to bands like Korn, and you can truly see that, even if you don't like the music, these are talented musicians. Which leads me to another point. It's quite alright if you don't LIKE the music, it's just, what makes you look like a more mature person...or making good points about why you don't like the band (like the wickerman, etc.)? One lat point before I describe the band: Tell me, who wore masks and jumpsuits before Slipknot, hmm? Let's see....Mr. Bungle. That's all. Nowadays it's Slipknot, Mushroomhead, and Berzerker (and Mr. Bungle, if they're still around). So WHY is this 'mask-n-jumpsuit' thing called a trend? You wanna see a trend, look at how many people are bashing Slipknot nowadays. The Band- Sid, turntables-...Sid does an excellent job with a basically unused instrument in the metal industry, and he is definately one of the reasons I see Slipknot as a different band than the rest. Mick, guitars- AHH. Why must people rip on him all the time? So WHAT if he doesn't play leads? Neither does most of your precious black metal and death metal bands! And just check out the solo-esque riff on 'Surfacing'. Mick even teaches guitar. So please, go naysay on Mortician's guitar before you say anything about Mick or Jim. Jim, guitars- Many people think it ignorant and pointless to have two guitarists in a band like this. What I think is incredible is how Jim and Mick can do these dual guitar rhythms with no solos and sound even better than a song with a solo. Many bands out there today need only one guitarist, but with Slipknot, only two will work, and Jim is the perfect spot-filler. Corey, vocals- Corey sings with much more intenisty and brutality than people give him credit for. Try singing like him while thrashing around on stage. And plus, I believe Corey was being an individual by writing about hate back in '99. I mean, back then, we had 'true' black metal bands singing about satan (Ooh! What talent! What individuality!) and we had watered down...death metal singing about gore. While it might be trendy today, it's still more brutal than any of these new bands' lyrics. Paul, bass- I repsect Paul greatly. I am a bass player, and I have decided never to use a pick, just my fingers, and it's always inspiring to see another in the metal biz that can play awesome music, intricate, fast riffs, and still be able to punch 'em out with just their fingers. Just check out his stuff on 'Spit it Out' or 'Eeyore'. Joey, drums- What can I say about this can that has already been said? While his speed can be matched by just a handful, it's Joey's style that seperates him from the crowd. It's indescribable. Just listen to ANYTHING on the CD and you'll know what I mean. Shawn & Chris, percussion- It's Shawn & Chris's odd percussions that makes this album and 'Iowa' such a differnet album. I mean, they just make you go 'Jeez, that drummer must have eight arms and legs and one one expensive drum kit!' until you see the band members in the booklet. I mean listen to 'Surfacing' or '(sic)'. Who used custom percussion like this in the metal world other than Igor (Sepultura)? These percusion notes pounded out by Shawn and Chris add that one huge element to the album that makes it just a cut above all other 'nu'-metal bands. ...Who had a SAMPLER in their band before Slipknot, huh? And who does it better, that dude from 'linkin park' ot this guy? I mean, if you really sit down and listen to it, those odd songs on this CD that are just full of samples and weird percussions are truly a musical journey. That's what makes this guy so good at what he does. I was a little dissapointed when he didn't get used on as much on 'Iowa.'Well, there you have it. This album really is something differnet if you're curious about nu-metal. I mean, I can understand why some people don't enjoy as much, being that they maybe grew up listening to Korn, but if you've never dabbled in the genre of nu-metal, this TRULY will blow your mind. P.S.- Still aren't believing that Corey and Jim can sing/play, hm? Why don't you check out there blues/classical (with some metal songs, I think. Haven't heard the complete album.) side project, 'Stone Sour.' Now tell me, what band from any genre of metal pull off something like a blues/classical album?

Free Music Review: The Greatest Album Of All Time Hit: 5 Stars
This, in my opinion, is the greatest album of all time. Every song is absolutely astounding. I have read reviews on ere saying things like: Not as good as other bands which actually work and have talent. How would they know how much the band worked? When recording the album joey played so much and so hard he got over 200 blisters and still continued. Which other band got over 100 stitces and broken ribs in there first tour simply to pease the crowd. Joey is one of, if not THE greatest drummer of all time, his lightning fast drum rolls make you want to bang your head til it explodes, he is also accompanied by chris and shawn on the 'drums' creating a 'power triangle', jim and mick on guitars are absolutely amazing as is pau on bass, sid and craig on decks and samples add an extra electric feel to songs, that really work, and corey on vocals, Absolutely amazing, ive head people say he cant sing, ad has no talent, and the lyrics are good, dont they realise he writes most lyrics, which are amazing, and he can sing (Listen to stone sour) very well, but this is rock for gods sake, and bloody good rock aswell about as heavy as an elephant with a bag of hammers hanging of each tusk. All of this and some perfect timing and u have slipknot. Anyway the songs:742617000027: Great spooky intro of the words "The whole thing i think is sick" repeated at different pitches. (SIC): The first 'proper' song starts with fast power chords and amazing speed drumming that makes you want to jump out of the window for fun (But remember, turn it up loud enough so u can hear when u hit the floor). One of the best on the album Eyeless: Great mixture of percussion and sampling that lead into this powerful song. One of the best on the album Wait and Bleed: Their first single, great song, great melody in the chorus, keeps up the great speed and power. One of te best songs on the album Surfacing: Great song, great lyrics, excellent dj'ing from sid, great chorus you'll be screaming with your middle fingers in the air after a few listens. One of the best on the album Spit It Out: The fastest song on the album, perfect timing (even live) great rapping/shouting by corey. Slug - slow - medium - fast - super fast - spit it out. One of the best on the album Tattered and torn: People say in reviews 'Too slow, what happened to the speed?' But i think there wrong, is there a rule stating all rock should be fast? This is an excellent break for your neck, while you catch your breath for the next song...One of the best on the album Me Inside: Back to the speed and power, with a bit of spanish in. One of the best on the album Liberate: A fast mesh of speed and power, great chorus and guitar riffs, great lyrics. One of the best on the album Prosthetics: Another slower song, The guitars take a break during the verse, when the guitars smash in, into the chorus, great song, emotional, slow, yet fast... One of the best on the album No Life: Another fast one, with more raping. This song is a mixture between the speed and rapping of spit it out, and the melody and shouting/singing of wait and bleed. Fast, powerful, great. One of the best on the album Diluted: Faster song, great lyrics, great chorus, lots of different points in this song. One of the best on the album Only One: Another fast song, good pace through the whole song, good end bridge. More a Spit it out than a wait and bleed. One of the best on the album Scissors: A great exit to the album. A big mesh of drama and emotion, this fast/slow song, has a powerful sound, and powerful lyrics. A great way to lead to the few minutes of blank space before the hidden track. One of the best on te album Eeyore (Hidden track): The first few minutes of this track is taken from shawns video caera the night they finished recording. They all got some porn videos sent, and one contained one girl having a [bowel movement] in anothers mouth. Its very funny if you listen towhat there saying and picture what there watching, also you can hear chris vomiting. The hidden track is very fast, and was recorded with the whole and just walking into a room, pressing record and doing it, wile ross robinson (The producer) threw plant pots and other dangerous items at them. Great song, fast and heavy. One of the best on the album. Overall this is one amazing album, al the songs are great and it WILL be up there with the other classic metal albums, if the above al the others. Buy it.
Free Music Review: Slipknot [Explicit Lyrics] Most Pleasing Album Ever!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
This is a very pleasing album for anyone who would happen to like heavy metal. Much like Korn, this album STILL knocks Korn off of their feet. I think if you like metal and don't like them, you are a Metal Athiast, for these are Gods of Metal. Here be the Golden Songs:742617000027 (10/10): Now this is an amazing example of the skill used by Craig Jones, Slipknot's Sampler/Media. The whole thing, I think, is sic. It leads into the next song with a friggin' smash. I love this song, it is an amazing example of Yamaha's audio equipment combined with Master Sampler Craig Jones. (Sic) (15/10): Kay, folks. This song is the best one on the album besides Spit it Out and Surfacing. Man, this song has great skill inlcuded, while Joey is drumming like mad, just banging, while Shawn and Chris headbang while providing the song's most noticed percussion part. Eyeless (10/10): Now, with this song, I was blown away. It knocks every band like Korn, Limp BizKit (YOU SUCK, FRED DURST!) and Metallica. You just can't see California without Marlon Brando's eyes. It also has an extremely well-sounding guitar part near the end. THAT was NICE! Wait and Bleed (8/10): Now, right here, you may think my expectations are too low. They aren't. I have heard every peice of Metal Music that over set foot in the record store. But, anyway, this song had a very good chorus. Shawn and Chris provide the background percussion to ensure that enough is heard underneath Corey's flawless screaming. Surfacing (12/10): This is the new national anthem if you ask me. I LOVE this song. I love how Joey had flawlessly executed the drum solos near the end. That was amazing. If you headbang to that, you get a HUGE ADRENALINE RUSH!!!!!!!! That song be the bomb! Spit it Out (14/10) I personally live by this song kinda, because I love the entire rap concept mixed with the screaming and hardcore guitar. The guitar was soft, but that was just because it was being played SO FAST. Definitely one of the best on the album. Tattered and Torn (9/10): Once again, the power of Craig Jones and Yamaha combined will blow you away like an Oklahoma F18 Tornado. It is also as freaky as the Blair Witch mixed with Jason Voorhees' ch ch ch ch ka ka ka ka ka sound. Liberate (9/10): This is an extremely popular song between me and my friends. Probably because they are fans of Sid and Mick, who do the beginning DJ Scratch and the beginning guitar. This was great song. Recommended. Prosthetics (8/10): This song was awesome in the beginning with crippled and distorted guitar and the light banging on a beer keg. I think lots of Craig's samples were used in this, because Craig said in an interview that he liked the song best. No Life (10/10): This song was extremely pleasing, I loved it. It opens up into a really adrenaline pumped beat. This song was great. Also recommended. Diluted (12/10): I LOVE THIS SONG! I swear if you listen to it more than twice, you'll grow on the song! WHAT THE HELL DID I DO TO DESERVE ALL OF THIS!! Best part of the song. ---- These are basically all of the good songs. The ones after these are also extremely well written and performed, but I'm running short of space to type. So the best songs are: 742617000027, (Sic), Surfacing, Spit it Out, Tattered and Torn, Me Inside, Liberate, Eyeless, Diluted, and the hidden track, Eeyore. So all you metal fans out there, I call upon you to listen to your soon-to-be favorite metal band out on earth. And by the way, if you're 555 then I'm />P.S.: The guy who posted as RIPOFF, A Music Fan from CT, USA, well, he has no taste of music. Don't listen to him, this is a complete gold mine of Rock and Roll that the world has been waiting for since Jimi Hendrix.
