Free Music Notes for SlipknotFree Music Review: ONE OF THE BEST DEBUT CD'S EVER Hit: 5 Stars
Slipknot is a band made up of 9 members. Some people think that is stupid but I think thats awesome. That's one of the reasons there one of the best bands. The drumming is great. Joey is probably the best drummer ever. Sid is great on the turntables. Yes this band actually has a person with turtables but it is awesome for what it's used for. There members are: 8- Vocals- Corey Taylor 7- Guitar- Mick 0- Turntables- Sid 6- Custom Percussion- Shawn 2- Bass- Paul 1- Drums- Joey Jordinson 3- Custom Percussion- Chris 4- Guitar- James 5- Samples,Media- Craig Them waring masks is also cool. There masks are very cool. Why do people complain about there masks anyway. They say that they don't like the music because of them wearing masks. What does that have to do with there music. The only thing thats a little bad about the songs is that there too short. Only 2 or 3 minutes long.(Most of the good ones) The songs: 1-742617000027-(:35)- 10/10-One of my favorite intros ever. 2-(Sic)-(3:19)- 10/10 3-Eyeless-(3:56)-10/10 4-Wait and Bleed-(2:27)-10/10 5-Surfacing-(3:37)-9/10 6-Spit it Out-(2:39)-10/10 7-Tattered and Torn-(2:53)-9/10 8-Me Inside-(2:39)-10/10 9-Liberate-(3:04)-9/10 10-Prosthetics-(4:58)-8/10 11-No Life-(2:47)-8/10 12-Diluted-(3:22)-8/10 13-Only One-(2:24)-8/10 14-Scissors-(8:24)-10/10 15-Get This-(2:03)-10/10 16-Spit It Out (Hyper Version)-(2:24)-10/10 17-Wait and Bleed (Terry Dat Mix)-(2:31)-10/10 18-Interloper (Demo)-(2:18)-10/10 19-Despise (Demo)-(3:41)-9/10 20-Surfacing (Live)-(3:37)-9/10 *EXTRA TRACK* The extra track continues from track 20 and there are two different parts. You have to fast forward through the song to get to it. The first one begins at 6:45. Extra 1-(3:06)-10/10 Extra 2-(2:50)-9/10 Hope you enjoyed reading this. About there new cd: I have been waiting almost a year for there new cd. I read a review in a magazine in MAY of 2003 that they were going to be recording new music and that they hoped to get the new cd out in September of 2003. Never happened as I waited till October. I heard they would release it in December of 2003. Never happened. Now in May of 2004 on May 25 there new cd "Volume 3 The Subliminal Verses" will be in stores. I have heard "Durality" and that song is awesome. If you liked Joey's drumming in the last two cd's wait till you here this cd. MAY 25, 2004.
Free Music Review: I am constantly listening to this! Hit: 5 Stars
This is just genius. The greatest music I've ever heard. Buy this, you won't be sorry. Now for my track-by-track:742617000027 (5/5): WHOLE THING I THINK IS (SIC)! Great opener, even for an intro. (Sic) (5/5): Ever hear anyone rap like that? That's like scream-rapping. One of the best songs. Just listen to the work done by #1 and #8. Eyeless (4.5/5): I'll say it is AWESOME, however it could be a bit better. Great work by #0, #4 and #6. In some spots it sounds more like hard rock than thrash. Wait And Bleed (2/5): I love this song, but I'm sorry, it got WAY OVERPLAYED. Good work by #7 and #0 here. Corey does some of his most melodic singing. Good, but deserves lack of credit for obvious reasons. Surfacing (4/5): Not exactly my cup of anthrax. To some maggots, ths is the national anthem, but to me, My Plague would be a better national anthem. Pretty good, but some weak spots are here. The chorus? Only a well-trained maggot need apply. Spit It Out (100/5): The fastest song you'll ever hear in your entire life. More likely my national anthem than Surfacing. Tied for the best song on the album. PS: Corey Taylor does the fastest rapping ever established. Tattred and Torn (5/5): I don't know why, but this is a nice 'thriller' of a song. I'll bet you that #5 had to slave away and do a ton of work on this song. One of the greatest on the album. Me Inside (5/5): Although short, this is a good example of Speed Metal. This even has a tad bit of Spanish in it. Hear it, love it, hear it again is my motto here. Liberate (0/5): I really don't like this song. Prosthetics (5/5): WOW! LISTEN TO THE PERCUSSION IN THE BEGINING! How can you possibly go wrong with an opener like this? It is probably the third best off of the album. No Life (4.5/5): Good song, I love the lyrics. The only thing is with so much other good songs on the CD that this just blends in. Could be better. Diluted (100/5): Well, this is just a SMIGEN better than Spit It Out. Nuff said. Only One (4.5/5): This is sort of a clone of No Life, if not a bit better. ONLY ONE OF US WALKS AWAY! Neat, but somehow bland in someways. Great drumming! Scissors (5/5): Slower than most of the rest. Awesome and emotional. Need I say more? Hidden track 1 (3/5): Umm... Eeyore (1/5): Sounds too rushed. DELETABLES: Pretty much only Eeyore. Liberate is good to play if you don't really have anything else to listen to. OVERALL: Hop in your car and buy it now!
Free Music Review: C'mon guys, this is really not that bad! Hit: 5 Stars
If you're angry about that this band is still in existence, then ask yourself "why da hell do I allow myself giving a d*mn about it?" You're probably a person who loves only the classic '80s metal and earlier rock bands and you are irritated by any new stuff and style in music. I don't understand why do people think that "Only old classic music is good music". Yes I agree the 96% of pop, 89% of rap and 72% of nu-metal sux now.
But I say there are bands out there now which has soul and there is something grabbing in them. Check, I like this band since I was 13 and now I'm 19 (no I'm not the same guy who wrote the previous review:)) and I still like this band. Don't get me wrong, I like old metal stuff also Metallica, Slayer, Sepultura, Megadath, Black Sabbath etc. but I feel I must not be a so-called "mallcore f@g" to like this. They have real emotion, and even if one thinks that their lyrics are just stupid and its all fake agression they're actually very intelligent and they really say something. The music itself is an abstract improving of talent: they managed to put thrash-metal, industral rock, hardcore noise, some melodic metal and nu-metal into an atmospheric but really mad mixture and the lyrics just make it more effective. Just keep your mind open when you listen to it and you'll understand that I'm saying. Or if you not, there are still thousands of better metal bands you can listen to not only in the '80s genre but in the new bands also, I have to say I'm not a maggot I like bands SOAD, Killswitch, Mudvayne, Soulfly and Disturbed more than Slipknot. This band will stay with their fans and they are just getting better now. You're wrong if you list them together with failed bands like Linkin Fart and S**t Bizkit they couldn't evolve or change anymore and now they're nowhere! Slipknot still rocks on with their new sound of Vol.3 and 9.0 Live.
Highlights of this album:
EYELESS
WAIT AND BLEED
SPIT IT OUT
PROSTHETICS
DILUTED
SCISSORS
And the bonus version track: PURITY (I don't know who have heard it..)
Only two songs I dislike the fillers "Tattered&Torn" and "Only One".
P.S.: seriusly, once again, don't come here to bash this band and album, because your reviews are often as vulgar and hatefully as the contain of an internet mosh forum! There is already a lot of vile people who are insults to this page you don't need to add yourself to them.

If you like metal then theres no reason why you shouldn't buy this cd. This is the first of SlipKnot's two albums. Their second one is called Iowa, and it's much different than this one. Iowa is INSANELY heavy and loud and focuses more on all out hardcore nu-metal. This album, on the other hand, while hard, is much more melodic, fast, and catchy. Which one is better? Just depends on your taste. Also Unlike Iowa, this album contains much more singing and rapping done by #8, Corey Taylor. The rest of the band consists of two percussionists, two guitarists, a bass guitarist, a DJ, a Mixer, and a drummer who is probably the best drummer I've ever heard. Believe me... he could probably kick-drum faster than you could drum with your hands. 1. 742617000027: Just a quick introuduction to the cd consisting of the words "The whole thing I think is ****" repeated over and over. 2. (SiC) 9/10: A great starter song for the album... it's hard and fast all the way through. One of the better songs. 3. Eyel Ess 10/10: Just awesome. One of my favorite songs. 4. Wait and Bleed 9.5/10: Great vocals, great DJ skills, great song. A favorite. 5. Surfacing 8.5/10: Didn't like it at first, but now I do a lot. It's considered the best song by a lot of people. Nevertheless, it's really good. 6. Spit it Out 10/10: Probably my most favorite song. Great rapping done by Corey. It's a very fast song. Everyone will like it right when they hear it. 7. Tattered & Torn 5/10: "If you understand this song you understand the clown". Well I'm sorry, I don't understand this song and I don't like it. 8. Me in Side 8/10: Nice chorus. 9. Liberate 10/10: Another one of my favorites. This has an AWESOME chorus. 10. Prosthetics 7/10: A weird song... but pretty good. 11. No Life 9/10: Another awesome song, with some cool rapping. Another favorite. 12. Diluted 7.5/10 13. Only One 8/10 14. Scissors 7/10: This strange 20 minute track actually consists of two songs and a very long scene where the band is watching a nasty tape while one of the band members is puking. I have no idea why it was put in there but oh well, it's pretty fun. Overall, this is a must have cd for metal fans. It's hard, fast and raw and ranks as one of my favorite cds of all time. I probably liked Iowa just a LITTLE better than this. I recommend picking up Iowa if you like it REALLY hard and raw.
