Free Music Review: Aggresive but real
Hit: 5 Stars

Slipknot is, well, they are real. These 9 guys from Iowa are as scarry or as real as they can get. I don't mean their disturbingly creepy/cool masks, I mean their music. The lyrics that the absolutely amazing vocalist Corey Taylor('8' as his band ID suggests) sings out from behind that mask only make sense in this truly diluted world. With every single word the listener can hear his pain. In 'Scissors' he goes into a sort of trance of insanity where he seems to cry and laugh maniacly at the same time while singing "life, time" over and over again. With every single one of those we feel like he is really hurting. And this is something only a few bands can do (or have done in case of KoRn-they still have a chance people! ). The two percussionists 6-Shawn and 3-Chris are absolutely amazing and original. Same with 1-Joey. Every member of this incredible band is 101 percent with the music, everyone knows their instrument. They even have 0-Sid, a DJ who kicks some major MTV DJ Scribble ass. Now how often do you see that in a metal band. The tag team of guitars coming out of 4-James and 7-Mick are really vivid and it really shows that these guys are on their game. Let's not forget the pig masked 2-Paul and 5-Craig. Paul makes some nice sounds come out of his piece and Craig does an incredible job of putting out some creepy sounds. This band is definetly original and the sound they bring out makes you want to go truly nuts. My favorite songs on this CD are the ones where Corey actually sings and the way he can switch between the screaming out loud death sound to a pain filled melody is incredible. This would be 'Wait and Bleed, Me Inside, Prosthetics, Dilutedm, and Scissors.'. But the CD's best is Me Inside. And while you listen to Scissors and actually let the track run, you will find a sickeningly hilarious recording which will make you laugh and realize that these guys are just liek everyone else. They are human. Final words, Slipknot's music shines in today's too much misuderstood world. These guys are real and the lyrics that come out of Corey's mouth are real. It might be hard to get used to but if you listen to it with an open mind, you will quickly realize you are listening to truly amazing music. This should be 10 stars but unfortunately I can only give 5. This is a really meaningful album. Slipknot is here to stay for a while, you can be sure abbout that.

Free Music Review: one thousand and twenty reviews and only a four star average?
Hit: 5 Stars

That's just wrong. This album is amazing. Look at Iowa and The Subliminal Verses. Both of those albums have people who hate it. Look at this album. Hardly any Slipknot fans hate this so this is a good start. The reason why people don't like this band is because they don't like the screaming. I know people who don't like metal who like this band so check em out. Something must have to happen to have a thousand and twenty reviews right?

1.742617000027: weird intro.. 3/10

2.(sic): Amazing song, espicially with how they start up the song and end it. 10/10

3. Eyeless: The bass on this song.. wow.. and the chorus. This is an awesome song! 10/10

4. Wait And Bleed: Good song, not the best on the album tho cause it's short. 8/10

5. Surfacing: Probably Slipknot's most vulgar song. Once again another good song, even better with your feeling angry. 10/10

6.Spit It Out: This song is a rap/metal song and you can hardly understand the lyrics cause it's so fast, but still Slipknot does a good job on this song. 6/10

7.Tattered and Torn: Worst song ever made from the band. The song is not balanced. 1/10

8. Me Inside: Also a bad song, but it's better than Tattered and Torn 4/10

9.Liberate: Very good song, you'll hear more of Corey on this song than the instruments. 9/10

10.Prosthetics: To me is the best song on the album. It's not only haunting and loud, but it has a cybortic feel to it. Just amazing! 10/10

11. No Life: Nothing to say but but it's a good listen 10/10

12. Diluted: Best lyrics on the album. This song is flat out amazing. "I can stare into a thousand eyes, but every smile hides a bold - faced lie." 10/10

13. Only One: Average for Slipknot, only song on the album that gets old fast. 6/10

14. Scissors: Great ending. This song sent shivers down my spine cause it's so creepy with the screaming and the scissors like sound at the beggining of the song. 10/10

This album may have 4 flawed songs but that means the other 10 are flat out amazing. I'd recommend this CD to any metal head. Any non metal head should check out a single from the band cause I know people who love this band and aren't even metal heads, they listen to country and jaz (gross I know).

Free Music Review: First of all...
Hit: 5 Stars

SLIPKNOT IS NOT HEAVY, SPEED, ALTERNATIVE, GOTHIC, DEATH, BLACK etc etc.
THEY R NU METAL!!!! U GOT THAT?! NUUUUU MEEETTAAAALLL!!
Next, yes i do agree that nu metal is among the worst, most comercialized genres of music out there. BUT there r major exceptions, such as KoRn, System of a Down, and above all, SlipKnoT! These bands have created an artform. They each have a unique sound that is worth listening to and r nething but nu metal (even though thats wut they r considered) and among them, the greatest is in my opinion, SlipKnoT.
SlipKnoT has created a sound that has led to millions of fans all over the globe and it was for good reason. These nine Demoin Iowa freaks are VERY talented. It may not seem so but it is true.
If u think the guitarists are worthless, one rift wannabees, then u should get vol. 3 The sublimenal Verses, which is wen u c their true talent due to the solos
Joey (#1) is one of the greatest drummers ive ever heard (and ive heard a LOT) u will notice his talent in this album no doubt.
Now, on to my fav. member, Corey (#8) who is an AMAZING vocalist! dont listen to ppl who say he sux cuz they obveously havent heard him sing. HEY ALL U MUTHER F*CKERS!!! GET THE SPIDERMAN SOUNDTRACK AND LISTEN TO THE SONG BOTHER!!!! THEN U TELLO ME, AFTER ALL THE SCREAMIN AND GROWLIN (which i might add hes done very well) U THINK HE SUCKS AT SINGING!!!!
neways, the album is terrific. This is my fav SlipKnoT album followed closely by sublimenal verses. The sound is catchy and origeonal (not to mention very well done), the lyrics are inventive and can easily get stuck in ur head, and over all, this album does not have a single bad song on it (which of course is amazing for any band) I never found myself skipping any tracks on the album, and i find myself doing that a lot w/ other albums.
Over all this album is worth every cent! get it NOW if ur a fan of metal and pls dont listen to the "Metalheads" who wont give this band a chance cuz they r talkin out of their ass. And even if ur not a fan, borrow it from a friend and give it a spin, no harm in it after all. <(^_^)>

P.S. My fav songs r Prosthetics (which is a tribute to the 60's movie "The Collector" and Diluted

Free Music Review: The greatest band returns!
Hit: 5 Stars

Wow. Anyone who is a metal fan and hates these guys needs to get their ears checked. Just give the whole CD a listen, and you will uncover the large portion of talent that was passed down to them. Just give them props for creating the greatest death metal masterpiece. Now, to prove my point, let me rate the tracks one by one:

742617000027 (10/10): This is a pretty cool intro that kicks into the next song. The Whole Thing I Think Is Sick!

(Sic) (10/10): Just listen to Joey's drumming and you will KNOW that this is a good song. Corey's screaming (rapping) is also very good in this song.

Eyeless (9/10): Hard and heavy, gets a little old, THE BEST DJ'ING by Sid I've ever heard. You Can't See California Without Marlon Brando's Eyes!

Wait And Bleed (5/10): This is a good song, however, it sounds MUCH too mainstream. I've probably heard it a thousand times.

Surfacing (8/10): May normally be the maggot's national anthem, but not for me. Not too much stands out in this song.

Spit It Out (11/10): Have you ever heard such speed-rapping? Such soft but fast guitars? Now, this is MY maggot's national anthem! Definately the best song on this album!

Tattred And Torn (7/10): This is the strangest song that I've ever heard. Very experimental (not to mention creepy...)

Me Inside (10/10): Now, we have another speed track! One of the greatest on the album!

Liberate (3/10): This song doesn't really stand out too much. It's kind of boring, and I seem to always skip it.

Prosthetics (10/10): This gives you a great example of Slipknot's two percussionists (Chris, Shawn.) If you say they do nothing, and you've heard this song, then you must have some serious health problems.

No Life (9/10): I like the chorus in this song.

Diluted (10/10): This is a fabulous song that is really fast. There's really no more to say about this song.

Only one (9/10): See No Life.

Scissors (10.5/10): The second best song on the album. It's more slow and emotional, which turns into 2 hidden tracks (which I will not rate.) I think they used a lot of samples in the begining.

Well, there you have it. Aside from a few boring songs, this is just the most awesome CD I've heard. It's not as heavy as Iowa, but it is much better written. Get this first, and if you really like it, get Iowa!

Free Music Review: I don't care what they say...
Hit: 5 Stars

I like this band and there isn't anything they can do to change my mind. You know what, I know what deathmetal and thrash metal is, and I also know that Slipknot is neither of those. Slipknot is Nu-Metal, and as a fan of all types of metal, I can say that this is the best band that Nu-Metal has to offer. Slipknot's mix of grinding, post-Korn alternative metal, Marilyn Manson-esque neo-shock rock, and rapcore helped make them one of the most popular bands in the so-called nu-metal explosion of the late '90s. These guys are something else entirely. And it's pretty impressive. Although those lyrics that are discernible are not generally quotable on a family website, suffice it to say that the members of Slipknot are not impressed with their fathers, their hometown, or most anything else. "Surfacing" starts out by cursing pretty much everything generally, and then it starts getting aggressive, as shrieking guitar feedback alternates with DJ scratching. "Spit It Out" is speed Nu-metal with an actual melody in the chorus; "Scissors" ends the program with a sound that quite simply couldn't get any more aggro without falling apart entirely and by the end, the singer actually sounds like he's about to burst into tears. Now alot of "metalheads" are dissing these guys and their fans for liking them. Why? Because they get mad hearing the "maggots" going around and saying these guys are the heaviest ever, which isn't true at all. Slipknot is pretty tame compared to Meshuggah, Slayer, Dying Fetus, Immolation, Cryptopsy, Suffocation, Nile, Origin, Strapping Young Lad, Decapitated, etc...the list goes on. Yeah thank you "metalheads" for telling us what to do, telling us what we can and can't listen to, and thank you for conforming to every other "metalheads" beliefs. Many "metalheads" won't give this band a chance because they don't want to be labeled as posers. Well you know what, I know what I like, and I like Slipknot. There's nothing you can say or do that will change that. This is not as good as IOWA, but it is better than Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat and Subliminal Verses Vol. 3. Buy this today, and also check out the bands mentioned above if you want REALLY extreme and heavy music.
