Free Music Review: Life Changing Stuff
Hit: 5 Stars

What can I say to sum up one of the greatest albums of all time? This rates right up there with other outstanding first albums, like Jimi Hendrix's The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Billy Corgan attacks the guitar like a man posessed. This is, by far, the most guitar heavy of any of the Pumpkins albums, and, as a guitar player, this pleases me. There isn't a single weak track on this whole album, and there are a few gems, like Bury Me and I Am One. This is as timless as any great album there ever was, and I know that twenty years down the road, this one will definitely have a footnote in the history on modern music.

Free Music Review: Maybe the best
Hit: 5 Stars

The great thing about this album is it's just the least pretensious of the Pumpkins' albums. Before Siamese Dream (the Psychedelic Masterpiece), this album could be played among the bohemian coffeehouse crowds as a rock sampler amidst Tom Waits albums and the like. The best moods Smashing Pumpkins ever created were on this album, and when I hear it I'm saddened by how the band went way over the top (only further appreciating the value of the Pixies). So buy it if you want great guitar compositions without any munchkin drama. I heard Billy apologized for this album...if so, that's crazy talk.

Free Music Review: Maybe the Best SM CD
Hit: 5 Stars

well like many of you i heard of smashing pumpkin's '1979' and i loved them. the video was great but i didnt know much about the pumpkins really. so in my quest to broaden my musical horizon instead of getting of getting MCIS first i bought Gish. This CD is unbelieveable. i could not believe how great this band is. first off im a drummer and jimmy chamberlain needs no introduction. second, James Iha! i love his huge chords and those solos that are vintage. Billy has a very unique voice. hmm... if you listen to this record you will find that no matter what they do there is always a hint of sadness.

Free Music Review: Brilliant jam rock
Hit: 5 Stars

Technically the 3rd Pumpkins album I aquired, I often find myself listening to it more often than all the others. Honestly Im just another long time corganite, however this music is very appealing in a more general way to a more general audience. Unlike essentially all the other Pumpkins albums this one tends more to focus on a more raw(though artful and clever)rock sound. The only real exception to the rock out stuff are the last track and the hidden track, which are more progressive and interesting from a mellow standpoint. Highly recommendable to Pumpkins fans and rock fans of all ages.

Free Music Review: Really Good Album
Hit: 5 Stars

I must say that this is, by far, my favorite album by the Pumpkins in addition to being one of my favorite albums ever. This is, in my opinion, the defining heart and soul of the pumpkins. Any of their new songs which have been successful have some shared trait with the work on this album. The powerful yet artistic drumwork by Jimmy Chamberland is. . . beautiful. Billy's voice and guitar is awsome. This entire album is just good music, with my favorite, Rinocerous, serving as a pinnicle. The album is just raw Smashing Pumpkins, and it is an amazing piece of work. I love it a lot.
