Free Music Notes for GishFree Music Review: TRUE ROCK! Hit: 5 Stars
This album would be totally perfect if it had the song "Drown" from the sound track "Singles" as the final number. However, after you finish listening to this album that will be the last thing on your mind. This album was done long before old Corgy went bald and turned into a hyper-goth-phyco-rock star. He may be a nice guy but he sure lost what ever it was that created this album. Which should be placed on the shelve or in the cd player right next to Led-Zep, Floyd, or any other essential rock classic you might have.
Free Music Review: Wish there were 6 stars.... Hit: 5 Stars
This is an AMAZING album, as a 3-year fan of Smashing Pumpkins and owner of every major release (and some not very major), I have to say this is one of their best... which is a hard thing to say, considering how very awesome everything they do is. Crush is sweet and lovely, Rhinoceros has a dream-like appeal, Suffer combines serene beauty with moodiness and truth, and most everything else just rocks. Every song on this album is excellent and representative of raw talent that will give the Pumpkins a place in history for decades to come.
Free Music Review: The Pumpkins Rule Hit: 5 Stars
This album was the Pumpkins second best. I seriously think that Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is a bit better and so is Siamese Dream. This song has many heavy rock songs such as I Am One, Siva and Rinocerous. Tristessa (stated on this page as Fristessa) is a very slow rock song. This is the best. Buy it and try to persuade another person into buying it! Worth it's money.P.S. Gish was re-released and the re-released version off Virgin Records has much better quality that the Caroline version (the original one)
Free Music Review: amazing. Hit: 5 Stars
For anyone who is willing to call Smashing Pumpkins just another angsty rock band of the 90's, Gish without a doubt proves them completely wrong. The musicianship on this album is stunning. The originality of the music is outstanding. Far from the grunge trends of the time, Billy Corgan (one of the most underrated guitarists of recent) combines his psychedelic guitars with Jimmy Chamberlin's amazing drumming flawlessly. This, along with Nevermind and Siamese Dream, is a key album of the early 90's that everyone should own.
Free Music Review: The Best Hit: 5 Stars
Gish is by far the best Pumpkins cd to be released. Despite the fact that it is their debut album from about 10 years ago and the production values are not the best, this is still the best music they have written. One of the most original sounding cd's when it came out it still holds it's own. For those of you who like unique sounding indy-style rock (not garage band mind you), compared to the more radio friendly Siamese Dream and the abysmal Adore, do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
