If you liked the heavier pumpkins( Mellon Collie, Siamese Dream, and Gish ) then this c.d. is a must- have for all the pumpkin fans out there The heavier songs on this album include; Plume, Frail and Bedazzled, Hello Kitty Kat, and Pissant. This c.d. combines the elegance of Billy Corgan, with the metallic sound of someone like Marilyn Manson. The Pumpkins have been a fan of mine for a year and a half, and I've never been disappointed by any of their songs so far. They please me because they're not a band that uses heavy, profane, language, and a sence of out of control, however, they replace it with a sence of beautiful, artistic expression. This album benefits from not having been concieved as a whole. Every song seems to exist in its' own little world, and the result is one of the most moving collections of songs I've heard. There is not a clunker in the bunch. 'Plume', 'La Dolly Vita', 'Obscured', Corgan's cover of 'Landslide' deserve distinguished mentions, but the albums centerpiece is the magnum opus 'Starla' and it is quite simply my favorite Pumpkins song and one of my favorite rock songs ever. 'Starla' trumps its' obvious inspiration ( Clapton's 'Layla' ) and achieves true heartbreak in its' raging-against-the-void guitar outre. It has a similar affect on me as Wagner's 'Liebestod'.Free Music Review: A Mind Blower

Ok if your planning on purchasing this, DO IT! This is a great release from one of the most influential bands of this era. It features great songs that a lot of people don't know about unless they have purchased it. It even features a ... song from James Iha that is spectacular. The rest of the album is a wonderful mix of the complete smashing pumpkins sound , though not really any technoish songs like on adore but ohh well. But it has the cool cover of Fletwood Mac's "Landslide" which rules.Anyhow...go ahead and buy it and judge it for yourself but i still say its awsome.

Pisces Iscariot is as Smashing Pumpkins as Mellon Collie. But needless to say, this is the "underground" album by them. No videos were put out for this album, and no "hits" are on this album, minus of course the "Landslide" cover Billy does. I found this album on the street in 1995. I've been listening to it since. Definately worth listening to. It's a roller coaster of a album. Some songs to sleep by, some songs to HEAVILY rock by. One of the most perfect albums ever. And not many know about it. Perfect mix for those who live in extremes. This album is probably the Pumpkins best. It runs the gamit of feelings from the wanting to bang your head into a wall to wanting to curl up and depress the hell out of yourself. This album has something for you no matter what you're looking for. The blend of songs also keeps the listener wanting to listen rather than getting worn out by the depressing stuff or a headache from continuous hard stuff.Highlights: Landslide (agree with other reviewers- blows all other versions away), Soothe, Whir, Blue, & Girl Named Sandoz.
