Free Music Review: Who wants honey? I do.
Hit: 5 Stars

In my mind Billy Corgan is an exquisite song writer and one of the greatest artists of all time. Time after time The Smashing Pumpkins have delivered classic after classic album and sadly the demise of the 'pumpkins came after their final warm and beautiful studio album Machina/The Machines Of God which was followed up by a final goodbye tour and a best of (rotten apples). Since then Corgan has gone on to form Zwan which extends Corgan's genius songwriting and notorius nasally/whiny voice (which u either love or hate) and Jimmy Chamberlain followed him adding his incredible power drumming to the cause. End of an era? Only for Pumpkins but their albums are unforgettable classics nethertheless.
Siamese Dream is just out of this world. It's got everything. Corgan's voice is incredible ranging from gentle to an onslaught of his notorious nasally voice. James Iha's guitar playing is sensational, D'arcy's bass lines on this album are quite amazing and as for Jimmy Chamberlain- Wow. Chamberlain's drumming is quite simply mindblowing. Arguably the best rock/jazz incorporated style drumming in the music business other than Dave Grohl. Id love to hear them have a jamming session together as drumming is a passion of mine. Every single song on this album is special and the album is a classic through and through.
Stand out tracks are : Cherub rock, Quiet, Today, Disarm, Geek U.S.A and Mayonaise. This album is extremely angsty and has an air of sweet sorrow attached to it especially on Disarm and mayonaise which are so beautiful. I remember Corgan saying in an interview this album saved him (because his childhood abuse made him fragile and he felt he couldn't open up his feelings in songs in case something happened again) and you can see it in his heartfelt and enchanting lyrics, hearing the extent of his pain in this album through each song. Gone but not forgotten. Pure genius.

Free Music Review: THIS IS THE BEST ALBUM .....EVER!
Hit: 5 Stars

I bought this album about four or five years ago as an impulse buy after hearing a local band do a cover of 'Today'. I just couldn't get the song out of my head so I just went and bought the album and ever since I have been a massive Pumpkins fanatic!! Every song on this album is beautiful, clever..each one is an emotional rollercoaster. 'Disarm's sweeping, melancholic cello provides the perfect backdrop to Corgan's plaintive cries of 'the killer in me, is the killer in you'. 'Luna' is surely of the sweetest love songs ever written and 'Hummer' is just a brilliant blend of melodies and honest lyrics. Reading some of the other reviews I was overjoyed by the fact that some chose 'Mayonaise' as their favourite track. I have previously been alone in my overwhelming love for this heartfelt, moving and blisteringly self-aware song. It is the only song that make me cry after hearing it a hundred times and I already know I would like it played at my funeral - and I'm only 18! I can identify with the lyrics and key message of that song to an uncomparable degree. When Corgan's distinctive, haunting and, in my opinion, flawlessly beautiful voice, pleas for those around him to 'try to understand, I just want to be me, and when I can, I will' with a mixture of sudden defiance and despairing sadness it breaks my heart. Never before or since have I known a song - or anything else- to so perfectly capture exactly how I feel and express it in such a delicate, perfectly crafted form. If you're not already familiar with the Pumpkins' material I would strongly suggest starting with this album, rather than the later, but also fantastic Mellon Collie. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Corgan is a genius, and he is unmatched by any of his contempories. 'Siamese Dream' is an album for people who crave beautiful, evocative music in this age of corporate pop.

Free Music Review: "Dream" away
Hit: 5 Stars

The drum rolls, then falls away for a building electric guitar, a drum, and a searingly vibrant wall of sound that rises before your very ears. This is the start of "Siamese Dream," a vintage Smashing Pumpkins album and one of the best, most underrated alternative rock albums ever released.

Opening with a bang is the dizzying "Cherub Rock," a song that serves as a perfect springboard into the heart of this album. It can shift in an instant between pulse-pounding (the deceptively-named "Quiet") and more progressive ("Hummer"). Corgan's range stretches even to the quiet ("Sweet Sweet"), the dramatic ("Disarm" with its bells and violins) or the catchy (the plaintive "Spaceboy").

Perhaps the most outstanding thing about the Pumpkins is their seamless blend of metal, neo-psychedelica and art-rock. The blasting electric riffs, sprawling melodies, and the whirling, sinuous guitars are all interwoven without so much as a sonic burp. At first glance, it seems like a fairly typical rock/metal album, but upon further listening, the alluringly complicated music begins to filter itself fully into your brain. Corgan's lyrics aren't for the perky among you -- angsty and introspective, while avoiding the trap of self-pity.

It's difficult to find a musical flaw with the Pumpkins in "Siamese Dream." Corgan's high voice flitters between murmuring and wailing. Backing him up are James Iha's layered, whirling guitar riffs and Jimmy Chamberlain's controlled, fast drumming. Acoustic guitar also gets to shine at the start of "Disarm." What sounds like church bells is even used.

Fiercely adventurious, brooding and expressive, "Siamese Dream" is a breathtaking ride into a majestic rock world all its own. Inventive and enticing, this is a modern classic.

Free Music Review: Great on all levels
Hit: 5 Stars

This is my favorite CD. Every song could be a single, yet they combine beautifully to create an experience.

Cherub Rock 10/10 A classic rock song, flows amazingly like all of their songs.

Quiet 9/10 I thought it was too simple at first but now I really like how the vocals mesh with melody.

Today 10/10 One of my first favorite Pumpkins songs, one of the most transcending on the album. Especially when it explodes into its distortion-laden harmonies.

Hummer 10/10 My favorite song on the album. Nearly takes my breath away. It comes out of its scratchy beginning beautifully and carries on.

Rocket 9/10 The guitar effects in this song are really cool. They make me feel like a little kid.

Disarm 9.5/10 A good song. A wondrous array of bells and orchestral instruments for a very feely song.

Soma 9/10 Hmm.... I really can't think of anything to say. Another great song

Geek U.S.A. 10/10 The most old school rocker. Makes me want to headbang, but not in like a crazy hard-rock kind of way, but in a slower more flowing fashion.

Mayonaise 10/10 Probably my second favorite song on the album. I'm finding it hard to breathe just thinking about it. Starts out beautifully and transitions into it's main feel amazingly.

Spaceboy 10/10 The acoustic guitar and strings on this song sound very unique. I'm running out of words to describe these songs. I'll call this one great.

Silverf__k 9/10 This song kind of freaks me out a little. I'll be relaxing to the soft flow of it when suddenly I hear Billy say "Bang bang you're dead, hole in your head." I'll call this one wondrous.

Sweet sweet 9/10 This one beautiful.

Luna 10/10 And this one awesome.
