Free Music Notes for Thunder

Free Music Review: Fresh, new sound
Hit: 4 Stars

We saw these three at the Hollywood Bowl and were amazed at their music. Different and interesting. Not every song is great, but the majority of them are worth listening to again and again. I would definitely make this purchase again.

Free Music Review: Very Nicely Done
Hit: 4 Stars

Stanley, Marcus and Victor have outdone themselves. A great new version of Clarke's "Lopsy Lu". If you are a fan of any of these bassist, you won't be disappointed with Thunder. Great recording . . . lots of bass!

Free Music Review: Collaboration
Hit: 4 Stars

If you have a thing for Bass players, then this one you might want to look into. It has both mid-tempo and smooth cuts worth hearing. WHoever thought of this collaborative effort was a genius.

Free Music Review: Desert Island
Hit: 4 Stars

Take this with you on your desert island if you only have your 10 favorite albums to bring...this album is ADDICTING!

Free Music Review: Three Monsters of Bass
Hit: 3 Stars

I'm a bass player and have immense respect for these 3 players and their virtuosity. The vast majority of people have no idea of the time and dedication it takes to play instruments at this level, and most people don't even 'hear' bass parts in music. But like many albums by monster players, the compositions just aren't there in enough quantity to love the album. I'm sorry, but the intro song is a real stinker, and there's several other tunes that are gilded hairballs.

However, I recommend that any bass players out there definitely check this album out - there are some awesome solos and inspiring playing. And I am burning several tunes from this album to my MP3 library: Thunder, Lopsy Lu, Mongoose Walk, and the gem of the collection, Marcus' Tutu. Stanley's acoustic bass kills on Tutu - and it is a GREAT composition.
