Free Music Review: Finally Another Snoop Album
Hit: 5 Stars

Every time Snoop Dogg releas an album, i always find myself wanting more, waiting for the next album.
in my opinion, "tha blue carpet treatment" was superb. now he got to this one.
this is an intresting one. in here, you hear alot of the mellow snoop, the r&b snoop, not like in his other albums - stright rap.
he tried to do a "t-pain thing" with his voice. he tried to do r&b beats and rap on them. like "Sexual Eruption" and "Cool". Kurupt does a great job on the chorus in "Press Play" the introduction of the album.
I Find this album to be very intresting and good, and a departure from his rap style that he had in his previous albums and more of snoop dogg trying to do r&b.
my favourites are
1.Neva Have 2 Worry
2.Sexual Eruption
3.Why Did You Leave Me
4.Gangsta Like Me
5.Ridin' In My Chevy

Btw, "Why did you leave me" is the best song on this album. it's just unexplainable how much this song is good. just hear it and you will find out.
and "My Medicine" is the worst song on this album. i mean....this aint snoop. it cant be!

Free Music Review: CLASSIC!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This album is amazing. The best he's done in a long time. I'm still constantly listening to it. When i'm not listening to it, i'm listening to the songs in my head. Every song on this album is done flawlessy. The best hip hop album in a long time.

Free Music Review: Disappointing
Hit: 2 Stars

As a huge fan of Snoop who has every one of his solo albums, I found this CD to be a major letdown. There are an absurd amount of tracks on this album, and I just didn't enjoy the production and the beats. Snoop is as smooth and talented a rapper as there is, and when he raps over Dre and Neptunes beats, he's amazing. But Ego Trippin' features one Neptunes song ("Set Up," one of the best songs on the CD, not surprisingly) and nothing from Dre.

"Sexual Eruption" is a catchy song that most of you are probably familiar with; it features Snoop singing with a voice box and a pretty killer rap verse later in the song. Other than that and "Sets Up," there are a couple of good songs. "My Medicine" is a Johnny Cash tribute type of song, and it's very unique and enjoyable. "Make it Good" and "Those Gurlz," which appear near the end of the CD, feature fairly harmless beats that don't get in the way of Snoop's flow.

On the whole, however, I believe that after a few pretty good albums from Snoop, this one falls short.

Free Music Review: Westcoast version of The Cookbook(2 and 1/2 stars)
Hit: 2 Stars

When I first heard Sexual Eruption, I thought it was a joke. That is until I seen the video for it with Snoop in a tacky suit with a wannabe Prince bandana. Sure Sexual Eruption is kind of daffy but the thing is that's one of the better songs on the album! SD Is Out, Sets Up, Been Around The World and Never Have 2 Worry are the best songs on this album. Cant Say Goodbye might be cheesy to some people but the song is actually decent. I can see why people like Sexual Eruption. It's pretty catchy and people love catchy songs. The rest of this album, I cant say the same. A lot these songs are all over the place and sound like Snoop just put it together because he feels that he's Snoop and people are going to love him regardless of what he puts out. Press Play, Those Gurlz, Gangsta Like Me sound like they were done on the spot. Staxxx In My Jeans and My Medicine are straight garbage. Cool sounds more like a cheap knockoff of Time's classic of the same name and not a remake. Deez Hollywood Nights uses kids in the chorus ineffectively and Waste Of Time featuring Raphael Saadiq is just that. Dishonorable Mentions: Let It Out and Ridin In My Chevy(feat Mistah Fab and Too Short). Bottom Line: Ego Tripin is not only one of the worst albums of Snoop's career it also is the most pathetic attempt at experimentation ever. Snoop basically ripped pages out of Missy Elliot's Cookbook by having a buch of songs that go all over the place with no form of cohesiveness. The only difference here is that The Cookbook had better production. The production was awkward and Snoop's rhymes are as hackneyed as ever. Now I dont knock him for trying something different but the execution was terrible. Snoop needs to check his ego at the door because he is trippin if he thinks that this album is going to fly.
