Free Music Review: One-Hit Wonder Syndrome, Part 1

Snow is the Vanilla Ice of reggae, in which his music is all dressed up for pop culture. He also resembles Rick Astley in a way too, in which you would never known that he was Caucasian if you just heard him on the radio and never saw his album or music video.
Enough with the comparisons, here's what this Canadian's big name album is all about. It's basically a pop reggae album that is usually remembered for one reason: "Informer". I have to admit that song is great for nostalgic purposes, along with the inclusion of Juice Crew All Stars member MC Shan. It's mostly repetitive with the infamous chorus line "A licky boom boom down", but it's harmless fun at best.
The rest of the album barely holds up. "Lonely Monday Morning" consists of the same verse lyrics that "Informer" has but it's slowed down. Then we have another single called "Girl I've Been Hurt" which is nothing more than your usual male voice pop ballad. The rest of the album is more of the same with the faux-Jamaican accent and pop beats with nothing to write home about.
If you like really fast vocal flow and don't mind the dated beats, you might want to give this a try, but to be honest, I'd try to find a really cheap used copy of it. It's pretty obvious why Snow's later works weren't as successful as 12 Inches of Snow once you find out.
P.S. If you're familiar with "In Living Colour", Jim Carrey does a parody of this song called "Imposter", explaining what he does in his song and what his career would most likely come out to be.
