Free Music Review: Well worth a listen!

I initially purchased this CD after seeing the Hollywood movie from the mid-sixties one evening recently, and being reminded that it was about a real person. Realizing Hollywood can be somewhat free in taking quite a bit of what I will term "cinematic license" with their subject matter, I researched Soeur Sourire to discover the real story and was immediately drawn in by what turned out to be quite a fascinating story, indeed. As is often the case, reality turned out to be much more interesting than fiction, and I was compelled to purchase this album for myself, initially merely for the song "Dominique", that being a perennial favorite of mine.
As it turned out, I was delighted by each and every selection on the CD, and there isn't a dud on the entire thing! The fact that it is in French makes it all the more endearing, in my opinion. Sister Luc-Gabrielle was not only an extremely devoted woman of faith, she was obviously a highly-talented song writer as well, as you will hear (on both counts) in every selection on the disk. Her voice is clear and strong, and she is accompanied vocally on most songs by three or four others of her order. Of course, she plays her beloved Spanish guitar as well, this being the only instrumentation utilized other than voice. I have listened to this album many times in the past couple months since purchasing it, and have not once found myself any less enthusiastic about the auditory experience or the messages conveyed, some of which are quite clever and even humorous in their nature. Soeur Sourire, we barely knew ye, but truly she lives on through her music! Highly recommended.
