Free Music Notes for The Singing NunFree Music Review: Music soothes the savage beast Hit: 5 Stars
I fell in love with this recording when it first came out in the early 60s. The music is so light and cheery. The tunes are those that just easily stay in your head and run around your brain. Lifts my spirit every time I hear a beginning strum of the guitar to start each song.. You don't need to know french to enjoy these songs.I can listen over and over again and leave with a perked up feeling. Ahhhh now I can carry on.
Free Music Review: A great classic Hit: 5 Stars
When I first heard this recording, may years ago (on vinyl), I was charmed and enchanted. Imagine my surprise to see it released on CD. I never thought it would. For fans of the Movie of the same name this is quite atreasure fior it is the original music used in the film, based on this nun's life. This recording captures a particular moment about 40 years ago, which was unique.
Free Music Review: Beautiful Hit: 5 Stars
This album is a wonderful one to listen to whether you speak French or not. (If not, the lyrics are written in both French and English.) She sings with such feeling! This was originally a record that has been a long time in coming to CD, and I'm glad it made it. You might even find yourself humming the songs (like I do occasionally). :)
Free Music Review: Absolutely Astounding! Hit: 5 Stars
The beautiful music of "Smiling Sister" has won the world in the 1960's with "Dominique." This (her first album) has been long awaited on CD. The music is made even more haunting by the tragic story of Soeur Sourire. Now, if they would only release the "Her Songs, Her Joy" album on CD...
Free Music Review: Heavenly!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I used to have the vinyl long playing version of this recording, it was one of my favorites when I was small. I have been looking for this record for many years. It has the most beautiful songs and fills your heart with joy. Thank God that someone had the good sense to publish this in the new CD format.
