Free Music Notes for The Singing NunFree Music Review: nostalgia hits again Hit: 4 Stars
My father had a copy of the original pressing of this album and there was a time when I played it every day. The melodies are charming and the lyrics -- simple, but poetic. Dominique may have been the catchy hit, but there are several others -- slower ones -- which move me in a way that it doesn't. Between the Stars and I Should Like to Be remain evocative to this day. For unpretentious, gentle, introspective music -- regardless of your theology -- the ill-fated Soeur Sourire still sings you into a sunny place.
Free Music Review: "Dominique" may have been Soeur Sourire's "Claim to Fame" Hit: 4 Stars
but I bought this CD for the haunting beauty of Lament for Marie-Jacques and Je Voudrais Etre Comme Le Vent(I would like to be like the Wind) as well as her lovely tribute to her beloved guitar, Adele. Whether you speak French, want to learn, or really don't care, the sheer simplicity of this album is a gentle addition to one's music library.

My boy's name is Dominic, and my uncle told me about the song "Dominique", so I bought this album. It's a nun playing a guitar and singing catchy tunes in French. It's either your thing or it isn't - you be the judge.

I would like to know if the English version is available. I loved this record as a child and I now have the video for my kids, but would love for them to be able to listen to the English version of the songs.

It is as good as I remembered! I gave the album to my Mom as a gift when I was 6 and we listened to it for hours. Now I can do the same with my children.
