There aren't enough stars above....This gentleman was THE master of the Hawaiian steel guitar in his day. He is still studied today by steelers world wide. He developed tunings and the style far beyond where it was when he started.
In Hollywood he was on call for film sound tracks until he retired. With the exception of the Warners cartoon theme, if you heard steel in a movie, most likely Sol played it. This CD is both an historicly a voyage in his career, but also a time capsule of the style and the times.
If you think you want to get to know the Hawaiian guitar, this is about as good a place to start as you will find.
