Free Music Notes for Something About Airplanes

Free Music Review: Good, but not their best
Hit: 4 Stars

Good cd, sugary sweet by any standards, but good nonetheless! Nothing wrong with having a pop sound. Personally I thought Transatlanticism was a bit better. Some people are afraid to like pop music becuase they are afraid that it's not "īndie enough" for them. Some people are so wrapped up in being indie that they are missing out on good music. Like music for music and forget about what people say about it.

Free Music Review: Melodic and soothing songs, but with big, fat sound.
Hit: 4 Stars

There's a lot of energy bubbling under the surface of these songs. It creates a little tension, the kind you don't mind holding onto for awhile. In general, Death Cab has good guitar sounds and a good flow to the album. Chris Walla will turn out to be a real force in producing records in the next few years.

Free Music Review: This CD has a nice cover
Hit: 4 Stars

... and it has good music too. They're fun to see live, and if DCFC can maintain their edge while simultaneously losing some pretense and gaining some humility, they could be a great band.

Free Music Review: I wake up with lines from these songs in my head.
Hit: 4 Stars

The tunes and lyrics take at least three listenings. Give it time and you'll be hooked. "Mellow" doesn't adequately describe it. It's deeper than that.

Free Music Review: my first dcfc cd... good not great
Hit: 3 Stars

Ok this isnt an album that is going to change the world but is really good. If you have never owned a DCFC album before this might not be the best one to start with. Dont get me wrong this is a beautiful album and one that i havent really gotten sick of yet but all the lo-fi make it a chore to listen to at first. Deserves 3.75. The song writing is amazing and the musical arrangements are spectacular. The cello is a nice touch. Extremly great on rainy days. "Champange from a Paper Cup", "Bend to Squares", "Pictures in an Exhibit", and "Fake Frowns" are the true gems of this album. Good all the way through but not for everyone. Worth giving a chance and if you do you will probably love this band. Download a song or two before you deciede to buy it but you collection isnt complete with out an album or three by these guys.
