Free Music Notes for Somewhere In Time (1998 Re-recording)Free Music Review: Another hit! Hit: 5 Stars
John Barry never fails to amaze me with his glorious compositions that can convey so many different moods. This is one of his most cherished and well known scores. Because of its strong following it has recieved and excellent and precise treatment here. The music has been re-recorded and extended to include more music than on the previous album. The result of this new recording is marvelous; never has this soundtrack sounded so good. All of Barry's tracks are romantic and beautiful. There is also a beautiful rendition of a Rachmanioff favorite. Overall this is a wonderful score!
Free Music Review: A beautiful recording Hit: 5 Stars
When I first got this CD I wasn't sure if I liked it as well as the original soundtrack recording. Some of the pieces were edited for the soundtrack so sometimes it was a little disconcerting to hear a song start or end differently than I had heard it done before (I've been listening to the original on cassette for over 20 years)but gradually I got used to it and came to appreciate the music the way it was originally written. This a beautiful and haunting soundtrack that I never get tired of hearing. I put it on and am instantly transported to Mackinaw Island...
Free Music Review: Music that angels listen to Hit: 5 Stars
This soundtrack is my favorite music of all time I think. It almost puts you in a trance. I had them play parts of these songs as I walked down the aisle at my wedding. Instead of people commenting on my gown, they asked what music was playing just then. It fits every mood and sends goosebumps down my spine. It is music I would expect angels to listen to. The melodies say it all without any word or lyrics. I must say anyone with an appreciation for music will adore this album. It is wonderful addition to anyone's music library.
Free Music Review: This one speaks to my soul. Hit: 5 Stars
A couple of years ago my partner and I took a cruise around the Horn (South America), and I listened to this music as we glided past the incredible wild scenery of Darake's Passage and then the Straights of Magellan. The majestic sights and the music of this album hypnotized me. Somehow I transferred this music to my memories of the tragic story I saw months ago in the film Brokeback Mountain. More often than not I still get all teary when I listen to this album, which is probably more frequently than is healthy.
Free Music Review: Hauntingly Beautiful and breathtaking Hit: 5 Stars
This one goes right into your SOUL and does it a world of good! I am a huge fan of the movie, the original soundtrack and of course of John Barry....and this is the greatest CD, and with John Barry's blessings, it follows his work right down to the chills down your spine and the goose bumps, not to mention the feeling in your heart and soul! This CD covers the pieces that are not on the original soundtrack, and that just makes it even better. Get this and you will love it as the rest of us all do.
