I bought a 20th anniversary DVD copy of this movie last weekend, and just bought this CD today. It plays the soundtrack as beautiful as it was played in the film. One litte blooper on the box list of tracks. Track 7 is called "Room 417". In the film, Richard (played by the late Christopher Reeve) stays in Room 416 at the Grand Hotel. Except for that, this is music set for a beautiful dream. I only wonder if I fall asleep listening to it, will I wake up 1912? John Barry contributed magnificently to the atmosphere and artistic quality of SOMEWHERE IN TIME, the film based on a Richard Matheson novel about a man travelling to the past to meet again with the love of his life/lives. Haunting music, sometimes romantic others misterious, are basic to this tragic tale starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. I have been addicted to this movie and music since it first came out. Not bad for a guy over 55!! Those of you that find yourself moved by the original recording will be very pleased with this rerecording. It again manages to take your mind, thoughts and emotions into that zone rarely experienced but highly treasured. It is quintessential Barry. Buy it, get your favorite friend,open a nice bottle of wine, turn the lights down, and turn it on. Your imagination will do the rest.Free Music Review: Excellent re-recording of Barry's work.

I'm usually not a fan of re-recordings of original work, especially if it has to do with some of my favorite music. However, this recording is a pleasure namely because the original "Somewhere In Time" soundtrack doesn't contain all of the music from the film. This version fills in all the gaps and covers just about the entire movie. If you love the original Barry score, I guarantee that you will enjoy this as well.Free Music Review: Finally found this audio after years of searching!

This audio was the background music for the movie Somewhere in Time. My three sisters and I watch this movie for years and have seen it on tv. The music was so appealing, we just had to have it. But to find it was another matter. Then one day on amazon there it was!! I was delighted and ordered three of them to give as gifts to my sisters. Now we are all delighted with this sudden find and thank Amazon for getting it for us.
