Since I first saw the film many moons ago I just HAD to have this music.It took me two years to find it and it has remained a very special and treasured possesion.Once heard, it's haunting and soul-stirring beauty will always remain with you. It has the power to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand proud or reduce you to tears.I relaxed to this music when I was pregnant with my son,and when he was born it was the only thing guaranteed to get him to sleep.The most excellent score by John Barry in my opinion and I'm so glad I found it here on C.D as my tape is almost worn out! It is so romantic, and compelling, and can sweep you away with profound, emotions of love, sadness, and joy! I love all the songs on the CD! Some of my favorite on this CD are the following:

'Somewhere In Time' is the ultimate tragedy/romance film. Made in '80, it has been one of my favorite films and musical scores for the last 25 years. John Barry's soundtrack is elegant, intensely romantic and will bring the listener to tears whether they have seen the movie or not. To me that is definitely the final and most important test of the value of the music.
Definitely for the thoughtful, romantic and emotional personality. Turn out the lights, put the CD on and find a comfortable spot. The music will ellicite feelings and emotions that you never knew you had.

John Barry is a wonderful and beautiful composer. I have listend to his music since I was a teenager. It has always touched me and his music is recognizable in all his movies. He wrote James Bond, King Kong (with Jessica Lange & Jeff Bridges), My Life (with Michael Keaton), Indecent Proposal, Dances with Wolves, Out of Africa,The Specialist (with Sylvester Stallone & Sharon Stone) and many more. As you can see, I am a fan and know all of his music. If you've ever seen any of these movies, you've heard his music and you know it is beautiful! We English are not renowned for our "Mussey" sentiment, However, both my Wife and I loved this Music so much we had to have it at our Wedding way back in `86 Then it was on LP. It is a timeless music which fills the soul with a sense of deep human feeling.
