Free Music Notes for Songcatcher: Music from and Inspired by the Motion PictureFree Music Review: Listen to the music Hit: 5 Stars
I have not seen this movie, therefore the music stands on it's own and it is excellent. It has been compared with O Brother, and while it mines similar ore, it is a more professional album. However, that should not detract from the fact that some of the best singers in the country did a fine job on these songs. If people want the actual movie music to be released, I support that wholeheartedly. But this and buy that.
Free Music Review: Absolutely Love It! Hit: 5 Stars
I ordered this CD immediately after seeing the movie Songcatcher. We particularly like the variety of performing artists, which makes it more interesting. The songs are all pure and beautiful, and we play the CD for everyone who comes to visit. Everyone who has heard it loves it, too. In a short time it has become one of our all time favorite CD's. I wish there were more CD's like this available on the market.
Free Music Review: Sougcatcher...wonder country music! Hit: 5 Stars
HOW WONDERFUL IT IS, TO ONCE AGAIN LISTEN TO MUSIC THAT ACTUALLY MEANS SOMETHING, TELLS A STORY, ABOUT SOMEONES LIFE, SOMEONES HISTORY. IN TODAY'S WORLD.... SONGS SUCH AS THESE COME ALONG VARY RARELY. THE MUSIC BRINGS GOOSEBUMPS TO MY SKIN, BECAUSE, NOT ONLY CAN YOU HEAR THE WORDS THAT ARE BEING SUNG, BUT, YOU CAN ALSO FEEL THE PAIN, SADNESS, OR JOY IN THE SINGER'S VOICE. WHAT WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL MUSIC!
Free Music Review: It is a great CD, but it is NOT the soundtrack from the movie. Hit: 5 Stars
The title for my review says everything. I love the CD, but I wish it had more music from the motion picture, and less of the inspired by. I give it five stars, and I am glad I own it. I recommend it to fans of the motion picture. Still, in a way it disappoints. I think it is like biting into a candy you think is caramel and finding peanut butter. I love peanut butter, but it isn't caramel.
Free Music Review: A Child of the Mountains Hit: 5 Stars
As a child of the East Tennessee mountains I loved the movie, Songcatcher, and ordered this soundtrack after watching it. It reminds me of the mountain music I raised on and came to appreciate. I highly recommend this album if you like the primitive music of the mountaineers. The artists obviously understand the culture and bring it to the public with their heartfelt renditions.
