I remember the reason I got this cd was because I had seen Wood perform at the 1999 NYC Guinness Fleadh, and I loved them so much. They said they were on the Dawson's Creek soundtrack, and that their album wasn't coming out for a few months.. So I stealthly bought this cd, embarassed about it. I did not expect to see such a wide range of the type of music I was listening to anyway... young singer-songwriter stuff that I could really like. I had already liked Sophie B. Hawkins, Shawn Mullins, and Paula Cole, who was once my idol... I love Dawson's Creek for featuring this type of music because it compliments the tone of the show very well... this is the kind of music I expect to hear near a creek, somewhere in Maine (or whereever Capeside is)...Free Music Review: an awesome display by some of the biggest names in music

this album is phenomenal. it's great that Sony got some of their crap together to approve the original version of "Lose Your Way" to be put on this album. Sophie has worked long and hard on this album. Sony would be stupid not to have released this song. Please think about the artistic freedom issues Sophie had to deal with when listening to this song. For those who don't know, Sophie's album was due out years ago, Sony decided not to release it because the song "Lose Your Way" wasn't "commercial" enough for them. All this for a banjo. Please show your support and buy this album, request the song on radio, and show Sony that what they're doing is Music Review: Great soundtrack for an awesome show!Hit: 5 Stars I am a huge fan of the "Dawson's Creek" show. That's what inspired me to buy this cd. I honestly didn't recognize many of the songs or artists on the compilation, but I wanted it for my collection anyway. What I got was a great cd full of very enjoyable tracks.
I especially love the song "London Rain" by Heather Nova. It alone is worth buying the album.
Some songs that have appeared on the show, but not on the cd are "Swim" by Madonna, "Northern Lad" by Tori Amos, and "That I Would Be Good" by Alanis Morissette. I would have been thrilled if these songs had also found a place on the soundtrack. Still, there's always the sequel album. :-)

Okay, I was expecting a bunch of familiar songs and I was a little dissapointed to find only 4, but the cd was great! I loved "lifes a bitch" because it totally applies to how i feel sometimes (lifes a bitch and then you die) and "letting go" is turning out to be one of my favorite songs, i love it so much! There are also some really pretty songs like "lose your way", "Feels like home", "Stay you", and more. They were all good in their own way and ever since i bought it i can't bring myself to stop listening to it! In the end i'm glad they didn't put artists i knew of cuz now theres a couple of new cds i'm planning on buying!Free Music Review: Overall this CD really rocks!!!!

I have to confess that I bought this CD only because of my obsession with the song "Kiss Me," but after listening to the entire CD a couple of times, I genuinely started to love it.It's now my favorite CD and although most of the songs are by people I hadn't heard of before, the CD is truly great if you're looking for a CD which has music to suit your every mood. I love Dawson's Creek and I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't more music from the more pivotal epsiodes in the series...Maybe there will be a 2nd soundtrack with more popular music, but until then, I'll keep enjoying this one, cuz it's really GREAT....
