Free Music Notes for Songs From The Neighborhood:The Music Of Mister RogersFree Music Review: Hasn't Kids Music Grown UP Hit: 1 Stars
I can't believe any kid over 3 would ever listen to this album. This is not music for kids, it's music that grown ups who don't like music think is what kids should listen to. I'm sorry, it may have been sweet when Mr. Rogers sang these songs as part of his show but these overproduced celebrity sung songs are unbearable. Where is the humor? Where is the kids point of view. WHERE IS THE IMAGINATION? I can't believe 13,000 people would spend a Saturday morning listening to this as they did last summer to Ralph's World. Not only do artists like Ralph Covert and Justin Roberts sing music that speaks to kids, but they sing music that brings the kid out of all of us. This music may be great to put on while little Billy chews on his blocks, but forget about it being played ever again once they reach 6 years old. And me and my daughters will still be "Surfing to Our 'Our' Imaginations", 50 years from now.
Free Music Review: Ugh! What a syrupy mess! Hit: 1 Stars
When I bought this I made the mistake of thinking that the songs would be sung by Mr. Fred Rogers (my mistake for not reading the description properly) and oh, what a bitter disappointment! This music is SO sappy, not anything like the wonderful way Mr. Rogers sang them. If you like Kenny G and Michael Bolton type easy listening then definitely buy this, otherwise look for something that really is for children - this CDisn't!
Free Music Review: painfully saccharine Hit: 1 Stars
If you a Mr. Rogers fan, hoping to enjoy his work (as I was) be warned: his simple meaningful and heartfelt tunes have been mangled into over-produced pop-sugar sentimentality, each artist "making it their own" to such a degree that the singable tunes Rogers created are all but unrecognizable. A *major* disappointment.
Free Music Review: Somethings shouldn't be changed Hit: 1 Stars
This CD is awful. Mr. Rogers music even when "upbeat" by his standards was calming for children. This is not. If the children are watching Mister Rogers on TV and expect to hear the songs as played on the videos, do NOT buy this album. It is nothing like what they have come to know & love.
