Free Music Notes for Songs in French for ChildrenFree Music Review: Songs likely to entertain anybody Hit: 5 Stars
The songs are sung by adult singers, not a children's choir, and the voices are beautiful. That's why I can use the CD for beginning learners of French in a college classroom.
The songs are not just sung, one after the other. They are also a little bit acted out, with the interjection of voices and animal sounds that can be funny, instead of embarassing, to young adults. The CD is not just kids singing children's songs. It has more surprises, is more playful, a bit funny, so that kids and adults can enjoy it.
Good selection of songs. Nothing primitive or basic about it.
Free Music Review: Timeless Hit: 5 Stars
My mother, who is french Canadian, called this old fashioned but good. I would say, rather, that it is old fashioned AND good. The voices aren't just nice musically, they are animated to get the childrens' attention. The songs are varied and fun (though at least one is a translation from English, which was a bit disappointing, but not a big deal). Though the music is meant for children, it won't drive parents crazy. And last but not least they have very good pronunciation, an important feature for its influence on children. This CD is a steal for the price!
Free Music Review: delightful children's songs in French Hit: 5 Stars
This CD is packed full of wonderful songs for children and adults will enjoy them also. Although I am older and learning French for the first time (brain food), I found these songs fairly easy to understand and some even familiar in the English version. Most kids will probably learn the songs rapidly. The singers are very good and leave a happy feeling in the heart. I would recommend this for those who are learning French (child or adult) as a tool for advancement of the language.
Free Music Review: Wish there were more like this for kids! Hit: 5 Stars
I thought the songs/tunes were very nice but couldn't understand most of the lyrics even though I took years of French in college and high school. My daughter (6) doesn't seem to care. Wish I could find more bilingual songs -- I highly recommend Global Village Kids Sing and Learn CD -- they have nursery rhymes in French and English. Since the words are familiar to my daughter, she can pick up the French meaning. Does anyone know of any more bilingual music like that?
Free Music Review: Best Silly Songs for Tots Hit: 5 Stars
These songs are universally appealing to the 2 - 6 y.o. age group to whom I teach French. The arrangements are clear, sparkling, and very entertaining. The gregarious spirit of the album draws kids into repeating and singing along with little concern for content. As they become more interested and start asking questions, parents can find lyrics, and in some cases history, of these classic songs by entering titles into an international search engine.
