Free Music Review: Soundgarden take their whole music upside down

For those who loved "UltramegaOK" or, much more, "Badmotorfinger" and don't really want to change or develop their musical ear, the advice is: don't listen to this record. For all the rest of the world, included open-minded fans of oldest Soungarden records, there are at least two reasons to put this cd in your library: they are "Blow up the outside world" and "Boot camp". These two songs are, I think, the perfect summa of all that Chris and friends are trying to say since the last '80es, musically and lirically. All this latest cd is not about bold long-haired metal kidz, but about being apart: apart from the others, apart from society, apart from themselves. The whole philosophy of "Down on the upside", and of all the Soundgarded works, is well concentrated in the last three lines of the last song of the album: "There must be something else there must be something good far away".
