Free Music Review: Not what you'd expect after watching the movie

We too purchased this CD for the song "Trip like I Do" and the fact that the rest of what we'd heard sounded like some wonderful heavy industrial electronic music. The kind of sound that gets your blood pumping and encourages you to have a lead foot while driving.
After our purchase we were sad to find that the only song that we considered worth listening to was the one we bought the album for. The rest is actually a combination of Rap and Metal. I personally dislike rap, and the Metal on here wasn't exactly the type of metal that I enjoy listening to. My suggestion is to listen to some of the other songs on the album before making the purchase. Because we only listened through once to determine that we should have just bought Filter's album for "Trip Like I Do" I can't give this more than 2 stars. I'm sure that this has fans out there, but just remember that you can't judge a soundtrack off of the 10 second clips of songs you hear in the movie.

In a bordering-on-brilliant idea, the overseers of The Spawn soundtrack proposed an idea to a host of bands that went something like this: "you metal kids go play nice with the electronic geeks and maybe you'll make beautiful music together." Well, guess what? It happened. From the sexy, screamy sounds of the opening cut "Can't You Trip Like I Do" (courtesy of Filter and The Crystal Method) to the funkified "One Man Army" (Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello mixing it up with The Prodigy), the disc is as hot as the Spawn's home and twice as heavy as the monster himself.
