Free Music Review: Ho Hum Acoustic Emo

Before all you Spill Canvas die hard fans bash me read the review.
Yeah this CD is ok. It's kind of like second hand serenade that was kicked up a little bit. However it's still pretty elementary and clich?d as far as emo goes. Then again the CD is pretty old.
Definitely not worthy of 4 or 5 stars considering what is out there now, including SC's EP Denial Feels So Good. That offering was an excellent example of this groups potential, and a preview of what I think we all are anxiously awaiting from their new album No Really, I'm Fine.
So if anything buy this album before listening to the EP or the new album. Go in order of release and you won't be disappointed. These guys are starting to produce some great stuff.
I truly expect that album to be the 5 star release.
*Update*
My final comment on this release was dead on. After their previous two cds, they bring it strong on their 3rd. It was exactly what I was hoping for. You could see flickers of greatness on Sunsets, and a couple great tunes on the EP, then on No Really, I'm Fine The Spill Canvas put it all together and bust out with a true 5 star album.
Well done boys. Well done.

Hailing from Sioux Falls, SD, Nick Thomas heads up his acoustic outfit, The Spill Canvas, while constructing anthems of brutally honest youthful angst. At the age of 15, after paying his dues in numerous local punk rock groups, Nick grabbed his acoustic and began to dive into a world completely different from his previous musical endeavors. He began to play assorted local venues simply under his name, Nick Thomas. But after a few successful shows, there was an increasing interest from other local musicians to join Nick on his solo journey. In turn, he tagged an actual band name so that his guest musicians wouldnt feel uncomfortable playing under his name.
