Free Music Notes for Christmas WishFree Music Review: She's Talented Hit: 4 Stars
This CD is really good. It is a compilation of classic Christmas tunes that are changed up into a pop kind of sound. Plus there is a new song from Stacie Orrico. Buy it! You'll love it.
Free Music Review: If you're a fan... (2.5 stars) Hit: 2 Stars
Album in a nutshell: Stacie Orrico delivers a spicy collection of 6 Christmas songs with mixed results. "O Holy Night" starts out with a great beat but gets kind of annoying towards the end and is too "urbanized." The title track, the only original on here, is nice and somewhat memorable. "What Child is This?" is desposible, and "Love Came Down" is cute and bouncy but nothing special. After the lamentable "Child," Stacie redeems herself with a nice cover of "O Come All Ye Faithful" laced with mid-tempo R&B beats while still remaining faithful (no pun intended) to the classic hymn. The EP's closing number, "White Christmas," is where Stacie gets it right. The orchestration is beautiful and nostalgic, and Stacie's vocals breeze through the song like a feather in the wind. If you're a fan, or just want a short upbeat original Christmas CD, this is for you. If not, don't bother with it.
Best Song: "White Christmas"
Christmas traditionals / Total tracks: 5/6
Sample This: A nice midtempo version of "O Come all Ye Faithful" and the sweet original title track, both laced with nice urban beats and tight harmonies
What to Avoid: the terrible version of "What Child is This?" and the last 90 seconds of "O Holy Night"
The album in 2 words: Fan Geared
Stocking Stuffer or under-the-tree: stocking stuffer
Free Music Review: not good enough for a title Hit: 1 Stars
don't spend your money on this album. Orrico totally messes up the old chrsitmas classics. It's not something you wanna mess with.
