Free Music Notes for Stacie OrricoFree Music Review: A terrific Christian album Hit: 5 Stars
This album is filled with contemporary Christian and a few songs have the new pop feel to it. These songs make you think.1. Stuck- My absolute favorite on the album, and not just because it's a single. The beat is absolutely fabulous and the words tell you to move on from something you know is wrong. Stacie's voice wasn't at it's best in this song, but it made up for in other songs. A great song, it rhymes well and makes you jealous that she thought of it first. 5/5 2. More To Life- A great song. Great single. Reminds me of Hilary Duff's "Come Clean" in a way. The words are very good and her vocals shine in this one. I like how it relates to God in a way, saying that the more you want will be given to you if you follow him. 5/5 3. Bounce Back- I think this is a song for everyone. Especially if you've got put on the wrong track. This song tells you to aks yourself is your life is right, and if it isn't to go God's way. I like the R&Bish sort of sound. The song has grown on me. 5/5 4. I Promise- This is a pretty song about how a friendship or relationship should be. It talks about how you should promise to be there for someone, no matter what. Very sweet, especially since it was written by Diane Warren, a fabulous songwriter. 4/5 5. Security- The tune is so catchy and the words are so good. An absolutely fantastic song. It and "I Could Be The One" are both similar. I like this one super lots. 5/5 6. Instead- I love this song- it's one of my favorites! The words are very good. The tune reminds me of Jewel's "Intuition" and that makes it great. A very considerate song. The words go together great and Stacie talks about something we should all accept. 5/5 7. Hesitation- Since I just recently got this CD, I haven't listened to this one much, but I think it's pretty good. The tune is good and the lyrics go together. 4/5 8. Strong Enough- The beat is really way too slow, but the words are beautiful and this is a song to listen to. Telling us that you don't have to ask about God, you just have to accept him by faith. 4/5 9. I Could Be The One- The tune to this song is soooo good! It's really grown on me. I love this song. The words are great too! This is a standout track! 5/5 10. Maybe I Won't Look Back- A song to really think about. I love the title. It says so much. This song makes you think "I wish I would have thought of it first!" It's slower than some. Tells you to choose God's way and help others. 4/5 11. Tight- Wow! A great party song! The end is a bit weird. Especially when she states her whole name. I think it's a bit unique though. Just like her small interlude in "Genuine". It's nice to be recognized. 5/5 12. That's What Love's About- This song says it all. Not only is it Christian, but it's one of the most positive songs I've ever heard. The world needs more songs like this. As you can see, we aren't doing so well. You are right on, Stacie, for telling us the truth. 5/5 A quick note about "Stuck"- For all of you who won't listen to that song because it's not Christian, don't do that. It's not as if she's worshiping the devil or doing any acts of evil. She's just a regular girl. I'm a Christian girl and I'm sure I'm going to go through some of Stacie's same problems, but that doesn't mean I'm evil. It's just a song, people. I really like this collection of outgoing, positive songs. Stacie co-writes most of them, which shows me that she knows what she's doing. I can tell she's a really great person in real life and her mind is turned in the right direction. When all my friends are listening to rap, when all the rest of the world picks up CD's with explicit lyrics, I turn on Stacie Orrico, and I know I'll turn out OK.
Free Music Review: Stacie Is Amazing! Hit: 5 Stars
Stacie Orrico is an example of what all singers should be. True, many singers do believe in God and don't worship the devil, but why aren't they showing it in their songs? Stacie Orrico's voice sparkles and her lyrics are meaningful. In "Stuck", Stacie describes an unfitting relationship that she knows should be gone but just can't get out of. This song is not Christian, but it's not evil. I don't understand why people hate it because it's not bad, it's just a song. My favorite on the CD, also! "More To Life" talks about how temporary highs (expensive or nice things) are always good, but they don't last long. It tells us that it's OK to have these things, but what really matters is that you believe in God. With "Bounce Back" we learn about moving on. This is a good song for people who have gotten in trouble and want to start over. It says you should "Bounce Back" into being a Christian. This song has definitely grown on me! "I Promise" is a very pretty song. It's just sort of slow. But it's about friendship. It talks about how you should be near your friends for every need. Diane Warren wrote it, so the words are gems! I really like "Security". It says how God is our security blanket and that if we ever need anything, we can just turn to him and he will help us. It gives out a good message about how if you start trusting in God, then your life will be much easier! "Instead" is a very, very powerful song that happens to be one of my favorites on the CD. In this song, Stacie sings about how poor or foreign people have feelings. It's sort of hard to explain, but that we should think about what life is like for them and how we should help them out. Very good. In "Hesitation" we learn about accepting God into our lives. Stacie says that we shouldn't hesitate for God. We should automatically see that he is Holy and believe in Him. I think that all nonbelievers and people who "aren't sure" should listen to this song, because it gives a very positive message. I like "Strong Enough". The only downside to it is that the tune is pretty boring. It's a beautiful song though. The lyrics are absolutely breathtaking and Stacie's voice blew me away. Not one to miss! "I Could Be The One" is one of my favorite songs on the CD. I love the tune. It's very entergetic and happy. The words are very positive too. A feel good song that makes me want to dance!! "Maybe I Won't Look Back" is one I am still thinking about. The words are amazing. It talks about how you should just go with God and not look back. She also says that we should do things we won't regret, like helping a friend in need. Very powerful. The most energetic song on the CD is "Tight", which talks about either God or a crush. It's a fun party song that has grown on me. Has an r&b feel to it. Now to the final song. "That's What Love's About" is a beautiful song with really pretty words about how love is all that matters when it comes around. And true this is. Everyone should see this. If all the people would take the time to listen to this song, the world would be a much better place. Overall, this is a fun album that kids can listen to, unlike all the rap that people let their children hear. Stacie gives out a Christian message, but her songs aren't very slow. Their danceable with a pop vibe to them and most kids can probably relate. If you aren't very Christian, you need to pick up a copy of this CD so you can see how wonderful God is! I've always been Christian, but after listening to this CD, I've really really become more appreciative towards God.
Free Music Review: Stacie Orrico, Best of both worlds! Hit: 5 Stars
My opinions on this CD song by song. I hope you find it helpful. I tryed to come up with the best way to explain what you will get if you buy this CD.*Stuck (5/5): For those who listened to her "Genuine" album before this one, you'll probibly be like, "Umm, okay... well it's diffrent from her other one..." Even though it's diffrent, it's pretty easy to get used to Stacie's new style. This song is really popular, but because that's said by everyone, you just automaticly think it's good. But this time, it is a good song! Really. It's well written, the lyrics in this song you can really relate to, it has chatchy music that gets 'stuck' in your head and Stacie has a great voice on this track! *(There's Gotta Be) More To Life (5/5): Another one of Stacie's popular songs that was put on CD singel (The ReMixs on the CD singel are more Funky and DJ style then on this CD). The music to this song is great! The lyrics are awesome and you can really relate to, as most of her songs. *Bounce Back (3/5): The music in this one is a little weird and is'nt very memerable. But it has a good message, and as her previous songs, you can relate to them well. *I Promise (3/5): A pretty good song lyricly, the beat is'nt awesome - but good none the less. *Security (2/5): I myself was never to found of this song. At first it's sounds like she singing about a boy, then it's sounds like she's singing about God. The music is okay, but not my style. This is only my opinion, and maybe I just need to give it time to sink in before I really get it. *Instead- (5/5): My favorite song on this entire Cd other then "More To Life"! It has an awesome beat and a great lesson learned by sang Stacie. The lyrics are awesome and the music just the same. This song is diffrent from all the others, in a very good way. *Hesitation (5/5): I love the beat in this song, it keeps you bopping through the day. The words are really cool and her voice is good in this one. *Strong Enough (5/5): The lyrics are really what drives this song. Some people say that the Piano and Violin in the background are boring, but I think it's awesome. You can really hear Stacie's great voice is in this song. (She's no Celine Dion or Lara Fabian, but she she sounds great none the less!) *I Could Be The One (5/5): This one could easily fit into her album "Genuine". I love this song, the words are well written and you can relate to them. (This song is a Christian one, so some people might not get it if they don't know that it is.) *Maybe I Won't Look Back (5/5): This one is Stacie's favorite song she sang on this CD. I thought it was okay, then I really listened to it and it finaly made sence. It's a great song, good lryicly and her voice is pretty good in this one, too. *Tight (2/5): Another bouncie song. Not one of my favorite's, but it's okay still. The music is okay, and the lryics are fairly good. *That's What Love's About (3/5): The last of this CD is a calm song. Ang again not one of my favorites, and I'm not sure why they ened the CD with this song but still it's okay. The music is good, reminds me of her "I Promise" song. In all, I'd give it a five stars. It's one of my favorites and I listen to it offten. This CD can be for Christians or not, it's the best of both worlds and I hope you injoy it as much as I have! :)
Free Music Review: "Stuck" on this cd! Hit: 5 Stars
You know an album is going to be good when you like the artist's song the first time you hear it. Luckily I was right. Here are the songs:1. Stuck- Like I said I loved this the first time I heard this. VERY catchy. The reason I bought the cd. It's about trying to move on but still being stuck on the person you're trying to forget. 2. More To Life- meaningful lyrics. catchy beat and good choice for next single. It's about wondering if there's more to life than being satisfied with something that makes you temporarily satisfied. 3. Bounce Back-I don't listen to this much. It's okay but mostly filler to me. 4. I Promise- I hated this song at first. I thought it was boring and I was mad when I heard it was going to be the next single. I kind of like it now tho but I still don't think it should be a single. It's about promising to always be there for a person. 5. Security- Catchy song but I also think its mostly a filler track. I do listen to it though sometimes. 6. Instead- Wow I love the lyrics in this song. The beat is kind of weird but its cool. It's about treating people who are different than you with the same respect you'd want from them if you were in their shoes. This would be a great video if it was a single. 7. Hesistation- "why do you spend all your time, watching life pass you by hanging on to your pride...?" so begins this song. One of my favorites. This could be a single. It's very catchy. It's about basically not letting your life pass you by. Get off your butt and do something!! is what she's basically saying. 8. Strong Enough- I luv, Luv, LUV this song!!! It's just beautiful and she sings it beautifully.I'm a Christian and if I could sing I would sing this in church and I know everone would be crying. It's about realizing how wonderful and powerful God is. Even if you're not religious you should give this song a chance. 9. I Could Be the One- Yet another song that I did not like at first. It has a kind of techno beat. But I just lisetend to the whole song one day and found that yes it's another catchy song! I especially like the part when she goes: "Doesn't matter who I am or where I'm from.." 10. Maybe I won't Look Back- Here it is: MY FAVORITE SONG ON HERE!!!! I don't know what that one reviewer was saying about it being creepy. W/e it's not creepy it's great! Her voice sounds really cool in this song. It's about choosing the type of person you want to be. Extremely catchy. If Orrico doesn't make this is a single she's CRAZY!! 11. Tight- I don't listen to this song really but I do like when the beat changes at the end of song. I have to admit that's pretty "tight". 12. That's What Love's About- This is a nice ballad and a nice way to close the album. It's about helping people when they're down. AND THAT'S ALL FOLKS!!No but seriously this really is a great cd. I don't know why some people were criticizing her about not singing about God in every song. Even though she doesn't, every song IS positive with a good message which is in fact very God-like to me. Another thing that drew me to this cd is Stacie Orrico's voice. She can actually sing and you can tell that she really sounds like that in real life and it just wasn't changed to sound like that. Plus Ive heard her sing live so I know she really sounds like she sounds on her cd. She kind of reminds me of Christina Aguilera who also has an amazing voice. Anyhow you should definitely go out and get this. You will not be disappointed. My only complaint was that it was too short.
Free Music Review: a defense and explanation Hit: 5 Stars
i first heard stacie orrico's music when her first album, "genuine," was released. i wasn't too impressed due to its overly-packaged pop sound and often-trite lyrics. i was, however, encouraged and impressed with her ability to reach the teenage demographic with her outright and very obvious message of God's love and His relevance to this generation. i wasn't surprised when not too many people knew about her because she was, in fact, under the "christian" genre. like what many people have been saying (and opposing) in these reviews, stacie orrico has crossed over into mainstream/secular music. i believe, as an 18-year-old guy who tries to stay somewhat in touch with "pop culture" for the sake of knowing what's going on, that stacie orrico is facing the dichotomous situation of portraying a christian message while appealing to the widest audience possible. something i read that was quoted by another christian genre-turned-secular genre artist was that, as christians, they can either continue to give water to the quenched or bring water to the thirsty. i think that stacie is doing a great job bringing the water to those who are thirsty with positive messages that conjur self-examination through thought-provoking lyrics. as christians, we are not the ones that cause the plant to grow - we allow the Lord to do that; our role is just to plant the seed. stacie is planting seeds. as in most cases, change (or the realization of the need for one) starts with reflection, which is what stacie's music encourages. rather than egging on banal-yet-omnipresent messages of looking perfect, hating enemies, or wallowing in one's unfavorable situation, stacie lyrics provide a refreshing approach to life's difficulties. she is introducing non-christians to the door but not forcing them through. i believe that at least pointing them in the direction of the door is better than shoving them through it, if that. by staying with orthodox "christian" lyrics - lyrics expected from a christian-genre artist - those who do not know where/what/who the door is would probably not be exposed to the possibility of something better and infinitely fulfilling. stacie is honest with her music, singing of common teenage issues that even the godliest of young women endure. for those bagging on "stuck" for its supposed message of "boys above God," dive deeper and see that she is, in fact, attempting to get out of an unhealthy relationship, or in other words, a change for the better. i really don't think stacie has abandoned her faith and is, in fact, doing what she has been called to do. so, to wrap it all up.. christians who are skeptical of this album: stacie is bringing water to the thirsty, or, at the very least, allowing people to realize that there is water. that's a good thing. so much music these days paints a portrait of a stagnant life with the only changes coming through material or sensual means. stacie offers a refreshing (and radically counter-cultural) point of view.non-christians who are skeptical: staice realizes she's mainstream now and wants you to hear her music. her lyrics are positive and laid back, yet concurrently catchy and definitely not corny. if anything, this album should have been called "genuine" becasue it really is. totally phat beats don't hurt either.
