Free Music Review: Stacie Orrico Hit: 5 Stars
Stacie Orrico re-emerges with an eponymous album. On her second full-length disc to adopt her moniker, Orrico brings an edgier, R&B-soaked groove to the table that's undeniably grown up. Following a gold debut that boasted accolades, the new disc is richer in texture. With production help from veterans like Dallas Austin (Pink, TLC) and Virgin CEO Matt Serletic (Santana, Matchbox Twenty) it's no wonder the release permeates crossover appeal. Tunes like the dancefloor-envious "Stuck" and the moving "I Could Be the One" are evidence of the rise Orrico took since her debut. Vocally the opus stretches her talents by delving into several tempo and mood changes that the 17 year old embraces like a seasoned veteran. While not abandoning the Christian roots of cuts like "There's Gotta Be More to Life," there is evidence of lyrical strength in the midst of diva attitude. Listening to the slower cuts offered up here is sweet reward. Tunes like "I Promise" and "Strong Enough" are different styles that both have Orrico singing like a mixture of Beyoncé and Celine Dion. The astounding thing about the disc is that the grooves drip of dancefloor sweat, maturity, and soulfulness while maintaining integrity and purity from America's newest diva/role model.
Free Music Review: Stacie is still "genuine." Hit: 5 Stars
Nearly 3 years after her debut album "Genuine," Stacie Orrico is back with her proper follow-up, second self-titled album. It was originally suppose to be released last year as "Say It Again," but was shelved. From those sessions, there were 10 songs. She dumps 4 songs, keeps 6 (a new laid-back R&B version of "Bounce Back," which is WAY different from the "Say It Again" recording, along with "Tight," "Hesitation," "That's What Love's About," "Maybe I Won't Look Back" and "Security."), adds 6 more (like "Stuck," which is all over radio and MTV) and you have a "genuine" true 2nd album, full of "tight" harmonies, great production, and Stacie's "genuine" vocals. Each track shines through out the album and she does NOT disapoint. She is following other Christian music artists, like Amy Grant and Sixpence None The Richer crossing over to the pop market. And with "Stuck" climbing up the charts, it looks like she'll join them in taking their music outside of the church and to the world. We can expect more great music from this talented young lady in the years to come. Definitly worth listening to and the one to watch.
Free Music Review: A wacko ...veiw of this cd (hmm... a weird title) Hit: 5 Stars
I would have to say that this is my absolute favorite music album. i know some say that it's not christian and she's not singing about god anymore, well, this is the most religious album i own, (my collection rounded out with mostly rock albums) but i didn't buy it because of that. stacie orrico has an awesome voice and there is no doubt in my mind that she has talent. the first song on this album, stuck, is my all-time favorite song, she has such a wide range of vocals and i love the words- "i can't take it; what am i waiting for; my heart's still breaking; i miss you even more; and i can't fake it; the way i could before..." i have no doubt in my mind that if you buy it, you'll love it... or, if you're my little brother, who worships eminem, you'll hate it. but i really hope your not him, because as far as i know he dosen't shop on-line. but that's not the point. i mean, i know a few nine-year-olds and on the bus the other day i let them use my walkman (yeah, brave) and they completly loved the cd... my mom even thinks it's good, i mean she used it for her party and she's almost 46!! so all in all this is an awesome album... this review probably didn't help you at all, but trust me (yeah, i know, as if!) it's awesome!
Free Music Review: Wow, I love this CD... Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this CD for the song, "Stuck" as it is one of my favorite songs. Here's what I think of each of the songs:Stuck: One of my favorite songs. The beat is really catching, and the lyrics are really depressing and well written. More to life: One of the other songs I bought this CD for. Describes me a lot. Very catching chorus and very, very good lyrics. Bounce back: Not my favorite song on the CD, but it still has a okay beat and good lyrics. Still, Orrico can do much better. I promise: Good song, but again, not my favorite beat. Security: Good beat, very, very catching chorus. Hm... I like this song... Instead: Very, very good song about compassion and mercy. I love this song. Again, one of my favorites on this CD... These songs are really addictive... Hesitation: Catching beat. Pretty good song. Strong enough: Sad song. Again, describes me well. I could be the One: I like beat, though I don't particularly like the lyrics as much as a lot of the other songs. Maybe I won't look back: Wow, really fast song, but I like the lyrics and beat... Tight: Love this beat. Good song. That's what love's about: Hm.. cute beat, the lyrics are cute too...
