Free Music Review: What does everyone have against this cd?
Hit: 5 Stars

What does everyone have against 14 Shades of Grey? Is it because it isnt as heavy as Dysfunction or Tormented? Is it because it is too "whiney?" Personally, I think that Staind did a very good job on this cd. There are some pretty heavy songs on it also, such as "Price to Play," "Yesterday," "Fray," and "Falling Down." Mike Mushok played awesome on this cd. In most songs there are about 2 guitars playing different things and it sounds really cool because one is playing low power chords, and the other is playing higher notes. Aaron Lewis's voice has greatly improved on this cd, not that it was bad before, but it just sounds more mature. This whole album sounds more mature than the other 3. And about the song writing. Everybody says Aaron is too "whiney." The guys just letting a bunch of stuff off his chest. It's always nice to tell someone when something is going wrong, and that's what hes doing. The profanity isnt as bad as it was in the other cds, especially when compared to Tormented. The only songs Aaron cusses in are "Yesterday," "Fray," "Falling Down," "Blow Away," and "Intro." Sure, this cd isnt near as heavy as Dysfunction, but it shows that they can pull of different styles. Plus, they say that their new cd, "Chapter V" (Coming in June), will have some of their heaviest songs yet. Give 14 Shades of Grey a chance, it may suprise you.

Free Music Review: No matter what the "know-it-all's" say, it's STILL staind
Hit: 5 Stars

First of all, I'm pretty sure I posted a review for this album when it came out on May 20th and I purchased it, oh well...Second of all, all of you people that cry and whine and say all this crap about bands selling out and changing their style (and as soon as they change, you don't like them anymore for some reason), all I have to say to that is: I don't see your asses up there on stage making thousands of people go wild at a concert and making platinum albums...this doesn't just go for Staind, you people say it about every band that changes...if you don't like Staind now, then you were never a true fan to begin with...big deal, so they're not as angry as they used to be (Dysfunction is still my favorite album by them), but it's not like they don't still continue to put out really good music...these guys play for us, they make their living by making music for us, and you didn't have to pay the "OH MY GOD IT'S SUCH A WASTE OF MY MONEY $13.99" so shut the hell up...very few bands out there these days with a vocalist that can actually sing...very few bands out there these days that can even put out a sophomore album, let alone four albums...but this place is open for reviews, whether they're good or bad...some of the reviews that criticize the band make sense, but most of you are just retards and it shows...

Free Music Review: Best Staind cd ever... well, at least what i think
Hit: 5 Stars

Alright, I'm the first person to review this album! Alot of you are probably going to give this album a bad review and start labeling Staind as "sellouts". Everytime a band slightly changes their style, everyone automatically labels them as sellouts... anyway, here's the review:

Don't buy this album expecting a super-heavy, nu metal sound. Buy this album if you want to hear down to earth, melodic music. Don't get me wrong, its still heavy, but its not "metal" anymore... with the exception of a few songs. But thats ok, because I would not have been pleased with a copy cat of Dysfunction and Break the Cycle.

I can honest say that I can listen to this album without skipping one single song. I cant say that about the past two Staind albums. The new songs are just amazing. I was a little worried about whether or not they would be able to top Break the Cycle, but they did! Almost all of the songs on the new cd are capable of being hit singles. And another new change, not all of the songs are about aaron's bad relationship with his parents *gasp*!! That was one of the biggest complaints about this band... that they kept whining about their family life. Not so on this cd.

Overall this is a great album, the songs sound very different from eachother and very diverse. Its a great buy... go out and get it!!

Free Music Review: Moving forward as artists.
Hit: 5 Stars

Why is it when a band stretches its musical muscles, expanding beyond its own borders, the so-called "fans" of their music run from them screaming "sell-outs!" This album is fantastic, regardless of what some of the reviewers are saying. Aaron Lewis has moved past his anger, and found inspiration. Granted, this album is not as gut-wrenching as Dysfunction, however, it is not filled with radio-friendly tunes as was Break the Cycle. Staind has found a piece of their collective soul as bandmates. They have never sounded better together. Mike Mushok is quickly becoming a formidable guitar player. Jon and Johnny have never been tighter, but it is Aaron Lewis that catpults this band in the stratosphere. There is no doubt in this listener's mind that Mr. Lewis is the finest male singer in the industry today. Yes, he has lost the soporific anger of Mudshovel, Go, and Spleen, but has replaced it with a voice that drips with character. This is not to say that he holds back in any way, if you listen to Fray, you can feel his emotion. He gives every inch of himself in every song on this album. But to listen to Zoe Jane, a song he wrote for his daughter, and not feel his lingering pain, then you just may well be one of the so-called "Ex-fans" of this fantastic and timely band.

Free Music Review: The best cd i have ever bought
Hit: 5 Stars

Alright straight up. If you liked staind's first album and only their first album then don't buy this one. Me, I like everything they have put out as of yet. If it was not for aaron lewis, there wouldnt be sh*t on the radio. No i take that back bc everything on the radio is sh*t.

Music is my life. It is true EVERY song on this cd is excellent. I wish there were more bands like staind.
Every song is mellow except for the first song. Just buy the cd and decide for yourself. But put it this way, this is the one and only review that i have ever posted. I just wanna help my boy aaron out cause he is pure talent.

All these staind haters are probably just used to that heavy, kill everybody, i hate my parents, i have no life, i wear all black, i dye my hair black, one chord on the guitar, i scream and growl lyrics that mean nothing, bullsh*t they wanna call rock but it is just TRASH. Don't get me wrong, I love korn, deftones, nirvana, staind-dysfunction etc., but people like slipknot...nobody should buy that sh*t. They are fake. Their lead singer growls on one album then releases a cd with the band he began with with a very slow song. oh well like i said i really dont care if you buy this one or not i just dont want you to listen to people that dont know music.

BUY IT!
