Free Music Notes for Chapter VFree Music Review: A new chapter indeed... Hit: 5 Stars
It truly is the year of the 90's. From Weezer to Better Than Ezra some of the most awesome bands are releasing new albums with the loyal fans in mind. Staind's new cd `Chapter V' is no exception. Like all the other groups Staind brings full circle all of the sound and splendor from the last 3 cds. There are tracks like `Run Away' & `Falling' which reminds us of the good old days when Staind was a raw power house of noise. `Cross To Bear and `Please' brings us the hard songs with meaningful lyrics and of course you get their most melodic and with songs like "Take This." There are even some new sounds in there as well with songs like `Reply'. This new album is a true statement from this now power group. It is saying that there is no slowing down in sight and of course most importantly they are saying thank you to all the fans who have been there from the beginning by giving us something old. Who knows what Staind will come out with next? The track `Everything Changes' definitely lets us know that Staind at this point in time has the ability to anything they can now...because this surly opens a new chapter on the road to greatness.
Free Music Review: Chapter V is a mix of old and new school STAIND Hit: 5 Stars
Chapter V is one of the best cd that Staind has put together so far.It combines the the old style Staind with what they have grown in today when "14 Shades of Grey" was released.
If you combine Stainds first 4 cd styles of songs together, it would make "Chapter V"
"Chapter V" really shows how Staind has trully grown, not only as a band, but as true rock stars.
"Paper Jesus" "Cross To Bear" and "King Of All Excuses" is old school Staind.Hard, dirty, and total rock the hell out of you.
"Right Here" "Devil" "Schizophrenic Conversations" "Everything Changes" and "Take This" are songs that when life and or love has you down and you need someone there to understand just how you feel.
"Falling" "Please" "Run Away" and "Reply" is get in your car with some friend, play these songs as loud as your car stereo will play and just rock out and cruise the town.
And when some ask you who your listen too.(And they will ask you)
Just tell them, Stainds new cd "Chapter V"

Why does everyone compare every other staind album. I have been a huge fan of the band for 6 years but break the cycle is a terrible album, plain and simple. It is an overproduced peice of garbage with very WEAK songs. It seems that that is their most popular album and everyone seems to badmouth the albums that come after it as if break the cycle was really something special. I don't understand how anyone can listen to it more than a couple of times and honestly think it is good. Break the Cycle was when Staind were making their transition from a heavier sound to a softer one and it just did not work. 14 Shades of Grey is actually a really decent album if you give it a good listen. It may not be fantastic but it is VERY solid and does have staying power. Chapter V is a very good listen as well. Staind is no longer a heavy band and if you can't accept that then don't buy their albums. Otherwise, give these two albums a good listen and maybe you will find that there is something to appreciate.

Poor Staind. No one ever seems to understand them. Their first two albums, "tormented" and "dysfunction" were hits, showcasing staind's heavy blend of hard rock, and frontman Aaron Lewis's screwed up family angst. But after "dysfunction" staind started to play down the heaviness, and focus on their musical abilities. Lewis dropped the screaming for the most part, but his angst stayed the same. Still, all the wimps hiding behind their message boards talked crap.
With this, their fifth release, Staind continue pretty much where "break the cycle" and "14 shades of grey left off" the lead single, right here, is a breathtaking piece, followed by many more. I recently saw Staindwith three days grace and hurt on the Jagermeister world tour, and their show was a breathtaking experience for me, my girlfriend and our 2 friends.
So everyone who doesnt believe in evolution...stop talkin crap and go listen to your crappy pop-emo bands.........stop disrespecting legitimate artists like staind

I am writing this review because I just wanted to say metalmarvle has no idea what he's talking about. This album is great. I wouldn't say better than their past two (Break The Cycle and 14 Shades of Grey) but of the same quality. I felt offended by the way he rated the songs (Schizophrenic Conversations and Cross To Bear especially), so I'm going to rate them myself.
Run Away: 5/5
Right Here: 5/5 (It is overplayed but it was great the first time you heard it.)
Paper Jesus: 4/5
Schizophrenic Conversations: 5/5 (One of my favorites. Slow songs need to be appriciated too)
Falling: 5/5
Cross To Bear: 5/5 (A 2?)
Devil: 4.5/5
Please: 4.5/5
Everything Changes: 4/5 (A good song but not the best on the album)
Take This: 4/5
King of All Excuses: 4/5
Reply: 5/5 (A great emotional ending)
So there are the REAL ratings, but he was right about one thing, you really need to buy the album, it's GREAT!
