Free Music Review: Dysfunction Rocks
Hit: 5 Stars

I heard the newer song "It's Been Awhile" on the radio. It is kind of mellow but I liked the lyrics so I looked them up and acquired the Cd. The newer CD is a lot more toned down than this one.
Staind is good and loud and very emotive in an angry way or a down and out way. Imaginitive in stating emotions in a physical way.
Suffocate rocks a lot but is kind of emotive at parts. It ends in yelling, like most of the songs.
Just Go is a great song. I really identify with the song so I liked it more so than Suffocate, which is not as easy to identify with.
Me is probably the only song that's about a story and not totally emotional.
Raw is a loud song. Probably the loudest on the Cd. I LOVE it. It's my second favorite song.
Mudshovel is about this person that tries to make him feel better but dosen't because the person doen't understand how he feels. Like to yell this one a lot.
Home is mellow, relaxed song. More emotional, more of a story than the rest.
A Flat is my favorite song. It starts mellow and than at points goes in to frenzied yelling. Love the lyrics. I whisper in your ear, why can't you hear it? I'm ok. I'm ok. I'M NOT OK! I'M NOT OK!
Crawl is a unique song. It's mostly quite loud but than suddenly goes very soft and says I Crawl while you spit, I crawl through you. You swear he's right next to you when he says Everything falls apart.
Spleen never says spleen in the entire song. It talks about not being accepted. Everything is vague when you say you don't need me. I don't look like you, do the things you do. I love the part where he goes You don't understand your destroying this planet. The scabs on her face... It sounds like he's going to reach out and touch them. It's probably the most emotional part of the whole cd.
Anyway, this is my favorite cd.

Free Music Review: Better than Issues
Hit: 5 Stars

Amazing 'cause no one really sounds like them. This isn't rap/metal,this is hard rock or alt/metal that leans towards the metal side more often than not, despite the occasional hip-hop beats. The only reason I say alternative because of the hidden track, which is called "Black Rain" if i'm not mistaken, which is acoustic. The band is amazing with some serious talent. The guitars are great,"Raw",and the bass is too like in "Mudshovel" both Mike and Johnny should be proud.Jon does an excellent job on this album mixing heavy metal-type drumming with furious hip-hop beats that I love.Aaron Lewis though has to be heard. His vocals are like Eddie Vedder and lyrics are some of the best i've heard in a long, long time. The lyrics are thought provoking and are way better then you think. "Just Go" is the perfect example of this bands talent and Aaron's ability to come up with moving lyrics. The first five songs are easily the best and way better then any thing i've heard in a very long time."Suffocate" and "Raw" totally rock."Just Go" and "Mudshovel" are the two amazing singles."Me" is kinda slow but I love it and Aaron's voice sounds so hurt. The rest range from good to great "A Flat" being the best. The hidden track is the best song on the album 'cause it's so emotional and hauntingly beautiful. It reminds me of Nirvana's "Something In The Way".Both songs have production problems,Kurt used a broken guitar and Aaron's voice sounds like he was in a hallway, but both are touching, brilliant, and show undeniable talent. Please give this a try, you'll love it.

Free Music Review: Dysfunction? This CD is the only thing still functioning!
Hit: 5 Stars

WOW. I've got to admit that I only got into Staind through the involvement of Fred Durst, but Staind have proved to me through 'Dysfunction' that they are 10 times the band Limp Bizkit wan't to be. I got my first Staind record in 'Break The Cycle' and I only got that because it had just gotten to No1 in the album charts, and also because of the beutifully writen 'It's Been Awhile'. I got home then played it. WOW, that record blew me away. It blew me away. I liked it so much I then went out and bought Staind's previous album 'Dysfunction' and I honestly couldn't beleive this album. Many hail Staind's best album to be 'Break The Cycle', but have they even listened to this? All 9 tracks are beutifully writen and ecellently played. Many hail Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit fame the best guitarist today, but to those people I say listen to 'Dysfunction'. Everyone with a musical instrument on this album gives it their best and it really shows. I'm even going to declare Aaron Lewis's voice a musical instrument as if you listen to the 10th track (secret one) you will releise just how much of a talented voice Aaron has. Key tracks for this album are tracks 2 (Just Go), 5 (Mudshovel (THE best track)) and 8 (Crawl). For those of you out there who are hesitant to buy this album I ask Why? This album is a work of art and one of my top 5 albums of all time, with Staind as my second favourite group (after the brilliant Lit). Buy this album. If you don't like it, you have a bad taste in music, but if you do embrace this album like a member of your family.

Free Music Review: The album of the millenium
Hit: 5 Stars

Hey Staind fans, I'm just here to tell you that rock and roll is back. I know the cool thing now is heavy complex guitars and a rapper, but I think it's great to have a band who doesn't fall into a certain trend like other bands did. Limp Bizkit did give Staind their big break and they're very grateful for that but they know that in music not everyone follows the trends. A lot of people say the band sounds like Alice in Chains-well..so be it. Alice in Chains is one the top five bands in history and soon Staind will be, too. I think it's great that a songwriter can go out and share his feelings and express his anger without screaming intelligibly and cussing every 4 seconds. It's only my opinion, but silly gets old pretty soon. I come from a nuclear family but some of my friends don't, so I see where Aaron Lewis is coming from in the song "Me." Which is undisputedly the best song on the CD and right up there with it is "Excess Baggage." I can turn it on during any mood I feel: Anger...Suffocate, Raw, Mudshovel, and Spleen. Loneliness...Just Go, Me, Home, and Excess Baggage. A Flat is also a great song that I listen to when I get my emotions out and just want to hear it because it's a good tune. If I am feeling neither of these I still pump it up, because like Aaron, I have zero self-esteem. In conclusion I'd like to say that on October 8, 1999, I finished my search of the perfect band. Wanna talk about Staind or anything else...e-mail me. Later...

Free Music Review: Best rock cd ever, hands down.
Hit: 5 Stars

Alright, let me just say i first heard of Staind when i saw them on the family values 99 tour here in san antonio. at that time i was not much into rock, but i thought that they rocked it. now they are my favorite band.

This is really Staind's second album, which they really matured on. this cd offers something for everyone, unless you are like me and love every song. The singer Aaron Lewis shares everything with his audience. His singing is strait from the heart, and that makes the best music. See him live and watch how he preforms, he is close to tears. He can truly "sing" as shown in songs like Home, Just Go, and Me. He also gets mad on tracks like Raw and Spleen. I can really relate to him, and numereous times this cd has brought me to tears.

The music is unbelievable. Lead by hard heavy guitars thanks to Mike Mushok who is amazing. Bassist Jonny April also very talented. Drummer Jon Wysocki (is that right?) can pound the drum set with impeccable timing along with Aarons vocals.

When i need to "let it all out" i sing along with the whole cd. when i am working out i listen to the cd. i listen to it in the car. it is always a good time for Staind.

If you havent heard Home, Mudshovel, or Just Go on the radio, you must check this album out. If you have heard these on the radio, there is plenty more on the album. If you didnt really like what you heard on the radio, all the songs are not like that. Just listen to it at a local music store.
