Free Music Notes for DysfunctionFree Music Review: fred who? Hit: 5 Stars
When I herd about this band, I wasnt too optimstic because fred durst probuced it. All of my friends said it was awsome but i thought it was just some bad rap-rock player wanna be. I herd "mudshuvel" on the radio and I liked it a little, nothing speciel. One day I was at the store and I had a couple of dollars to spare so I decited to check it out. Now it is my most played album. Its not rap rock at all, its just plain metal. Its dark, moody, yet good. Mudshuvel grew on me too and I can go through the whole cd without skipping a track. Aaron's voice is so awsome sounding. I also lie the guitaring. It id done very well and every song has ten times more melidey than limp bizkits best song. What fred durst has done here is hes made a band better than himself and I might have to turn away from him for awhile. Words cannot describe how great this cd is. Its kinda like reviving the kind of muisc that tool does. It makes every one of the Rap-Rock guys (except rage) look like idiots, and I mean everyone! Staind is awsome and it hasnt gone out of my player since the day I got it. This is an awsome cd and it is a good purchase to invest in. Im also trying to find "tourmented" because the verison of mudshuvel i herd is better then this one. (tourmented was staind's first album, very rare.)
Free Music Review: the best cd since ten Hit: 5 Stars
Back in 1991 three bands came from seattle starting a revival of music like grunge, alternative, punk, and all others we listen to today. In the past couple of years people have been saying rocks dead and dying. Sort of. Its taken a couple of turns for better and the worse, I'm not sure where is know, But this I do now that this cd is everything and more! And if it gets enough attention and popularity while they stay true it will be a new thing to revive rock. Staind has an unbelivable mix of hard riffs true bass back up and drumming fanatasism, with their painfilled, depressed, every bit full of emotion lead singer they truly are brilliant! no joke people these guy have what it takes. Their songs range from low and slow to in your face with a point. Buy this cd you will not regret it. Now why did i say the best album since ten (for those in the dark, it is pearl jam's first cd) because ten was all about emotion, love of music and great song lyrics/composition. that cd created a great generation of music, I hope this cd will can do it to. and to all those who dare to compare with korn and limp bizkit, what ever! I saw korn and staind together and staind was just there to open they got more calls to came back on stage(8x) than korn did(1x, for the old stuff!)
Free Music Review: A great debut, but could have had more songs! Hit: 5 Stars
In Staind's first major label debut (not their first album, Tormented was the first), singer Aaron Lewis begins his stories of how he was mistreated as a child, and adds grungy guitars and hard drums, to make this an album that should be listened to as a whole and not just skipping songs and listening to very little of each. This album is actually kinda long for a cd containing 9 songs. Maybe because the 9th song is 21 minutes long and contains a bonus track.I first found out about Staind from listening to the Scream 3 soundtrack which featured the song "Crawl" which is on this album. Then I heard a song on the radio from Family Values Tour '99 called "Outside" which featured Staind and Fred Durst from LimpBizkit. I heard another song called "It's Been A While" and it was from Staind's upcoming album "Break The Cycle". I eventually purchased that one. Then I wanted hear what Staind's major-label debut sounded like. I then purchased Dysfunction. I have not been sorry yet. Staind is a group that I hope will stay 2gether for a very long time and make a lot of great albums. So I highly recommend that you buy both "Break The Cycle" and "Dysfunction", and enjoy them. You will not be wasting money or time.
Free Music Review: Best of it's genre Hit: 5 Stars
Staind really isn't like a lot of the other new heavy metal/hard rock bands. A lot of the other new bands that are similair to Staind are just looking at the music scene and seeing that metal/hard rock is popular now and writing some cheap metal songs and coming out with a really cheap rock CD, but not Staind. Staind is defineatly a unique band with obvious talent. Theyre definately going places. But, 1 thing that's likely going to happen to them in the future is that in their 2nd, or hopefully 3rd,Cd theyre going to start blending rap with rock like Limp Bizkit or even KoRn;to an extent. I have no problem with that, but I wish that so many bands didnt do it.But,hopefully Ill be wrong and theyll stick with this type of music(which they do very well). But if they do switch thats even more reason for u to buy this CD so that u can see what a good hard rock band Staind is.I would give u specific examples of their best work on this CD,but theres no point, every song is absolutely excellent.I guess if i had to choose some favorites, theyd be Home,Mudshovel, and Suffocate. Trust me,get this CD,I promise,u will NOT regret it.There wont be another hard rock CD this good for a while.Get this CD.Its without a doubt worth it.
Free Music Review: Makes Break The Cycle... Hit: 5 Stars
Sound like 14 Shades of Grey. I just got this album yesterday and ABSOUTELY LOVE IT! Aaron is pissed off on this album. Now I am a HUGE Staind fan; first getting Break The Cycle, 14 Shades of Grey was good, but kind of disappointing because Break The Cycle was SO GOOD, and Chapter V was better, but still different from BTC (Break The Cycle, sorry but I love that album), but Dysfunction IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ALBUMS OF ALL TIME. Aaron screams more (like he did on King Of All Excuses on Chapter V), there are a couple of slow songs; Me and Home, but either than that, it is a perfect mosh album. Some of the best songs on the album are Raw, Spleen, Mudshovel (good song if your gf breaks up with you, Aaron is AMAZING on that song) and most of the album kicks major butt.
I know a lot of people on here tell everyone that Staind sucks because they are more soft from the days of Tormented and Dysfunction, well Staind on the new albums is more of a calm band, and they are trying something new and they are experienting with their new stuff, but on Dysfunction...that is a totally different story. Let them be creative people, if you have a problem with their new stuff, than do not buy their album...simple as that.
