Without any doubt it's difficult to pick out 62 songs of a whole
carreer of some 40 years and please everyone. The Statlers, to
my opinion have by far been the best vocal group in country music and I am still listening to many of their recordings today
and I can't get enough of it. However I must say I liked them
better when Lew Dewitt was there because I think Jimmy Fortune's voice is often too high and sometimes looks out of place and
therefore makes the musical sound a molesting one. I would love
to give it 5 stars but I can't because there are too many
beautiful songs left out and the third CD is more like a filler-
up. I'm really missing beauties like The Strand, Streets of San
Francisco, Moments to Remember, Monday Morning Secretary, Child
Of The Fifties, I Was There, Thank God I've Got You,All American Girl, I Believe In Music etc. etc. At least I still have them
on LP's but I would have liked them on this CD as well. Anyway
I guess others would have preferred different selections and
that's why that after all I'm happy to own this CD set.

Complete collection of the Statler Brothers unique harmonies! I fancy the "older" songs, but there are gems in their more recent material, too!
