Free Music Review: Nostalgia Overload!!

Like all other reviewers mentioned, this music really takes me back to when I was a kid. The interesting thing is that these songs themselves are nostalgic, yearning for a simpler time ("Class of '57," "Carry Me Back," etc.). Of course, the harmonies are probably what overwhelmed us as kids. Even though it was country, it was just so bloody good that we all succumbed to it. Even today, I get goosebumps every time I listen to "Carry Me Back." Now that I'm in my early 30's and can remember when things used to be different, these songs hit home even more. And aren't these songs just a joy to sing at full voice while you're cruising down the highway?? I thought so.Free Music Review: The essential country quartet

Forget the pop-crap "Oak Ridge Boys"...this is where it's at. There has never been another quartet (barber-shop, or otherwise) that could compare with the Statlers. This is a group that should have never retired. This Polygram/Mercury release covers the Statlers 1972-75 hits, including "Bed of Roses", "Do you Remember These", and their finest hit ever, "I'll go to My Grave". I was surprised at the affordable price, and expected the recordings to be later re-recordings; but was surprised to find nothing but original tracks here. I was just a little baby when this album came out. But I remember it fondly. My parents had this on an eight track and it was played at every party my parents had. There were alot of good times and great memories made to this album, and the songs are timeless classics. All of my parents eight tracks seemed to dissappear but it is nice to know that we can get them on compact discs again.Free Music Review: Childhood memories too

I was probably 10 years old when I heard this time and time again at home or in the motor home my family would take on trips...and it was on an 8-track system! Really brings back those happy, fun-loving childhood memories with my family...I am a hard-rock fan, but I had to get this to reminisce my happy past...glad you had it!Free Music Review: Fabulous

The Statlers are timeless. Wonderful harmony. Whether ballads or something rather whimsical, their songs always tell a wonderful story. My grandparents and parents were always Statler fans, now I am, and so are my own children. Their music will always be a part of my family's personal collection!
