I have had a cassette tape recording that came into my possession 15 years ago. The recording was not great, but I loved the songs. I have searched the record stores for years, but with no luck. I scanned some Christmas selections and discovered this particular one. When I listened to the music, I was thrilled to discover that it was the music that I had been searching for, for years. I, immediately ordered the CD version. It arrived in a few days, and was in excellent condition. I enjoyed it throught he holiday season, and will again next Christmas season, and years to come. Terrific Christmas album from the Statlers. This album was done when the group was in their prime (though they always sounded great), and the original tenor Lew DeWitt was still with the group. "I Believe in Santa's Cause" and "The Carols Those Kids Used to Sing" are two of my favorites, since I've only ever heard them here and they're great songs. The medley the four of them do for the final number is great also, with each of the boys singing a traditional hymn and wrapping up together with "Silent Night". I grew up listening to the Statler Brothers. My parents, aunts and uncles, and all my many cousins all were huge fans. Still to this day, the Statlers are our first music choice when we are together - we know every word of every song. And when we are together during the holidays, this is the first album we reach for. It is not Christmas until I've heard "I beleive in Santa's cause" and these four wonderful men singing in harmony to "Silent Night".
These wonderful artists will be so missed in my family and many others - but no one deserves to enjoy their retirement more.

Some of the best Christmas music you will ever hear if you like country music. I had this when it was a 33 1/3 album and almost wore it out. My daughter was in her teens then, she is now in her thirties. This is one of her favorite albums, her best friend found it and bought it for her and this year I bought myself the CD. It brought back memories we shared and memories of the way Christmas ought to be. I played it almost every day until New Year's Day. I originally bought this record, tape, and then CD when it first came out. It's as if the Statlers sing right to me not just because I'm listening, but because I'm family. I love traditional Christmas music, but these renditions stir new memories from old ones that many of us have had. The Statlers have done everything to put "Christ" back in Christmas and allowing us to relive our memories as if they were their's as well!
