Free Music Review: way to go, stevie!
Hit: 5 Stars

i knew it was only matter of time before i found a steve earle album i really loved. my wife had a live recording and we bought _guitar town_ after we moved, which i didn't care much for. but pitchforkmedia.com loved this album, so i gave it a shot, and it's a doozy. a big, strong record that's seen both sides of the railroad tracks. a heart of gold, too. this is earle's _car wheels on a gravel road_, a place for everything, and everything in its place.

Free Music Review: Every ROCK fan should own this record
Hit: 5 Stars

Criminally underrated as a songwriter, Steve Earle is much much more than just "Copperhead Road," and this record proves it.

The song "NYC" ranks up there as one of my favourite songs of all time. This record is one of the most solid to come out of any genre in recent memory. Buy it and be amazed. If you're a fan of rock and roll, this album serves as a great introduction to the great Steve Earle.

Free Music Review: An Instant Classic
Hit: 5 Stars

From the political tunes (Christmas in Washington), to the stories (Taneytown), to the country (I Still Carry You Around), to the rock (Telephone Road), to the duet (Poison Lovers), this album has a little bit of everything one expects from Earle, and nothing disappoints. This is my favorite Earle album -- every song has a distinct sound, and every one (with he possible exception of "You Know the Rest") is a winner.

Free Music Review: One of Mr.Earle's Best Albums - BUY IT NOW!
Hit: 5 Stars

Steve Earle goes places with his songs that most songwriters only dream about. Truly one of the greatest artists in music today, and this album is one of his best. Lyrics so precise and poignant that you'll have a tear in your eye and a smile on your face. There's no pigeonholing Mr. Earle's music, but don't let that deter your purchase. You can't go wrong with this one.

Free Music Review: The heart of the catalog
Hit: 5 Stars

Of all of Steve Earle's albums, this is probably the best one. He plays many different styles here, my personal favorite being N.Y.C.. I went to the NY show on the tour for this album, where he played three solid hours and was firing on all cylinders. Only a very subtle hint of those nasty politics in the first track. This album is great fun.
