Free Music Notes for Nine LivesFree Music Review: Winwood gets better over time! Hit: 5 Stars
I have followed Steve Winwood over many years Traffic was one of the greatest bands of its time, now Steve has produced another great album, nine very different tracks, My favorite is Dirty City with Eric Clapton but they are all great tracks the recording it self is top quality. if you like Winwood then get this cd, you will not be disappointed!
Free Music Review: So Soulful Hit: 5 Stars
Simply brilliant. I am not a fan. Liked Winwood's 1980's music. But totally taken by Nine Lives. All nine songs have their own little stories. The music is a cross between Donald Fagan and Santana, but with Winwood's own distinct touch. Certainly one of the best albums in years. And it reminds us that classic artists do have nine lives.
Free Music Review: Steve Winwood...Consistently Good Hit: 5 Stars
Ever since he played with Spencer Davis Group (as a teenager), Winwood has been churning out consistent hits. No small feat for a career spanning over forty years. I believe "Nine Lives" is every bit as good as Steve's 80's album that gave us such hits as "Higher Love" and "Roll With It". Every song on the CD is a pleasure to hear.
Free Music Review: loving it Hit: 5 Stars
I really like the sound. It's relaxing and kinda jazzy. I would say, "it's exactly what I would have expected". The whole album reminds me of Low Spark of High Heeled Boys. Although, Low Spark of High Heeled Boys still wins as my favorite. If you like that song, I think you will like this album.
I say, "Buy it".
Free Music Review: smooth, bluesy, jazzy Hit: 5 Stars
I agree with the other reviews that state that this cd reminds them of Winwood's early days. Although some songs do seem a bit repetitious, each is enjoyable in it's own way. Winwood's voice seems deeper and raspier but I think is an improvement. If you are a Winwood fan you won't be disappointed in your purchase.
