I Have a Pony, Robin Williams' Live at the Met, All of Steve Martin's albums except The Steve Martin Brothers, memorized by weirdo kids for the last twenty-odd years and here he puts out another release to rival I Have a Pony.
The jokes are weirder this time, but it's a welcome return from a guy who spent the time in-between ignoring his true calling (i.e. guesting on Mad About You). Glad to have you back, Steven. God knows Mitch Hedberg tried, but it's hard to top a master of understatement, which is rather self-defeating.

Free Music Review: monotone magnificence...

Ah, the godfather of modern understated comedy is back with a new CD with an apt title given that Wright hasn't changed his style since his first. This isn't to say that it's a dry recasting of what's come before. No, the material here is all new, with his usual wry observations that typically leave me wondering why I never noticed it before.
I will quibble about one detail: This is the same set that was released on the DVD "When The Leaves Fall", which is a slight disappointment, but it's still a delight to hear him again.

We bought "I Have a Pony" when it first came out many years ago and laughed ourselves silly. We've been fans of Steven Wright ever since, watching his rare TV appearances and still playing that record for friends when we need a good laugh. "I Still Have a Pony" is just as funny, and instead of hogging it to ourselves, this time we passed it on to some teenagers who hadn't heard of him before - they surely know him now. This is humor as it should be - no smut - just fun. A good investment in good humor.Free Music Review: Stephen is still Wright as Rain

Stephen Wright's comedy CD "Yes, I still have a Pony" is his best yet. His mixed metaphors are hilarious and his guitar playing has improved.
If you like the Wright stuff, this one is a must.
