Free Music Notes for Crystal Visions - The Very Best of Stevie Nicks

Free Music Review: Platinum!
Hit: 5 Stars

Couldn't bear it last night and ran out at the last minute to get Stevie Nick's Best of album, which was just released. What a lovely compilation! Really enjoy hearing the duets with Tom Petty and Don Henley. Also the Cheryl Crow collaboration on the "Sorcerer" is new and refreshing for me. Likewise on the "Planet of the Universe." Really like the Deep Dish band doing "Dreams" with Stevie for a different interpretation. Loved the Led Zeppelin "Rock 'n Roll" interpretation done by Stevie. Cool! (Not to be outdone by the Smashing Pumpkins doing Stevie's "Landslide!")

Some of the liner/booklet notes written or talked about live on the DVD describe the work she did to finish her songs, which is quite amusing. No doubt a must-have for die hards.

Since I have an iPod, I really longed for some remastered songs of hers. Job well done! This really hits the mark when I run. I can really rock to this. Thank you, Stevie!

Then the Melbourne Symphony plays for her background on a few of her hits. Some of the jammin' on that with the orchestra is just far out freakin' neat and never sounded so good. The last song or grand finale is my fave on this album.

This album no doubt will go gold too.

Free Music Review: STEVIE NICKS MAKES ME WANNA SPREAD MY WINGS!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I'll get right down to it. Stevie Nicks made only one career mistake ever, and that was putting Don Henley on the track LEATHER AND LACE. Everytime I hear that guys voice I wanna puke all over the room. His singing even ruins my bittersweet angels soothing pipes when he starts honking like a donkey on that specific track, which appears on this album twice. Luckily everything else is without flaw. (ahem... I'm looking at you DREAMS-DEEP DISH MIX)

Anyways... I never liked Fleetwood Mac. The only thing that ever made a Fleetwood Mac record would have been Stevie Nicks (sans maybe the original Mac from the sixties,,, but thats a whole different horse) Luckily when Fleetwood Mac started to get hogus with albums like Tusk, Stevie Nicks spread her satin wings and flew off to make solo records. The results are obvious EDGE OF SEVENTEEN? Makes me wanna hug babies, hate on oppressive males, and drag race muscle cars at the same time... The same can be said for STAND BACK. No one else has a song like that.

And her voice is sexy as hell. Ahhh. Stevie Nicks. You are the fever and the cure. Crystal visions indeed.

Free Music Review: For casual fans, this is the one to own
Hit: 5 Stars

This album combines Stevie's solo hits with Fleetwood Mac hits. Not all of her great solo hits or Fleetwood Mac hits are on here, but this a really good Solo Greatest Hits package.

What makes this package especially interesting are the live recordings of Rhiannon and Landslide. Also included is the original version of Silver Springs, which was left off Fleetwood Mac's rumours album. It's been remastered and sounds terrific. There are also two versions of Edge of Seventeen, the original and live version recorded with the Melbourne orchestra. Plus, it's chalk full of her great solo hits such Leather and Lace, Stand Back, Rooms on Fire, Talk to Me, Stop Dragging My Heart Around...

It's a terrific package and is better than her other greatest hits album Timespace.

Free Music Review: Gotta Love Stevie
Hit: 5 Stars

I must confess, I'd like a comp with all the Fleetwood Mac Stevie,
along with the solo stuff. I'm not a fan of live performances,
unless they surpass the studio versions, but the live tracks have something to offer for sure.
That being said, I like this comp, and I can even get by the 80's period drum machine, and production, because it's Stevie, and that voice, those words, and the witchy vibe, are what draws us to her.
Pick it up for The Tom Petty colaboration "Stop Draggin my Heart Around" and the Great version of Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" but hey it's Stevie Nicks. It's all good.

Free Music Review: God Only Knows, 5 Stars

.....If he did, he'd help me get better seats to your concerts! Buy the CD/DVD package from Amazon. There is something so genuine about Stevie Nicks and her music. Her commentary on the videos alone is worth the price. Check out her commentary on Edge Of Seventeen! The videos are awesome. The vocals on this CD send chills down my spine. Her voice is strong and incredible. The greatest female rock performer in my lifetime has just delivered a CD/DVD package to die for. By the way, did I mention you should buy it right away? Do so, you won't regret it. (I know she is your hero too).
