Free Music Notes for EnchantedFree Music Review: Definitive Stevie Nicks, right up through 1998 Hit: 5 Stars
Seeing as how Stevie has only released one album since 1998, the excellent _Trouble in Shangri-La_ in 2001, I think one won't go far wrong by getting that album and this box set (in fact Amazon makes it easy for you by offering just such a deal!) I said "box set" but that's a misnomer; this is really a booklet-set, with the three CD's set in the inside covers of a 64-page booklet crammed with photos in color and B&W (many of them previously unpublished when the compilation originally came out) and a complete set of lyrics for all the songs. The first two discs contain all of Stevie's solo singles (with the notable exception of "Sometimes It's A Bitch", her single off the 1991 greatest-hits compliation _Timespace_; I seem to remember Stevie saying that she really hated that title and released the song chiefly at the urging of her label executives) and B-sides, including several non-album songs that have never before been released on CD. The third disc is where a Stevie fan really hits the jackpot, because here one finds demos, unreleased songs, rare tracks from movie soundtracks, the famous "Golden Braid" which was long a staple of her live sets (here we see that the real name of the song is "Gold and Braid") and even a cover of Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'" with Stevie on guitar!
As a Stevie fan for over 20 years, I simply can't say enough good things or heap enough praise on this superb collection. If you're at all interested in Stevie Nicks, buy this item today!
Free Music Review: THE QUEEN OF ROCK "ENCHANTS" ME ENDLESSLY! Hit: 5 Stars
There are not enough words to describe just how great this box set is. 46 killer cuts on 3 CD's that chronicle a magical, mystical career of the greatest female singer of all time. I got this box set soon after it was released in '98, and it is worth every penny spent on it. An awesome 64 page booklet is included, with rare pictures, cool liner notes, lyrics to all of the songs, and a foreword by the queen herself. All of the hits that you remember are here, "Stand Back", "Edge Of Seventeen", "Talk To Me", "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around", "Rooms On Fire", "Leather And Lace", "If Anyone Falls", the list of coolness goes on and on. Plus rare b-sides, demos, a previously unreleased live version of "Edge of Seventeen", and a spellbinding piano version of "Rhiannon". There is also a previously unreleased studio track "Reconsider Me", and her duet with Kenny Loggins "Whenever I Call You Friend". She is absolutely my favorite female artist of all time. Every time I listen to her music, I am absolutely captivated by her fairy-tale atmosphere that she so effortlessly eminates. I can't say enough great things about this, so if you don't have it, you OWE it to yourself to pick it up ASAP. Rock On!!!
Free Music Review: The Enchanted Works of Stevie Nicks works like a charm Hit: 5 Stars
First of all, I love Stevie's music. This compilation is an excellent timeline or overview of Stevie Nick's solo career. The juxtaposition of the songs is refreshing.Even though the songs are not in chronological order; they do not really need to be in order to hear where the songs are in her artistry. Also you can look up info on dates, lyrics, chart status etc... inside the booklet which contains many pictures and a personalized letter from Stevie to anyone listening and truly hearing her. Her voice is unique and has in tonal richness what it may lack in overall range. The inclusion of her duets and even background singing on Gold, besides being fine songs, are important in that they demonstrate her gifted ability in harmonizing. CD 3 is my personal favorite, it includes harder to find B sides, a Buckingham Nicks song, and Soundtrack titles. My only slight disappointment is that she left out "No Spoken Word" and "Sable on Blond" which I would rather have than "Street Angel" and "Destiny." This is worth buying, whether you are a Nicks fan who owns most of her recordings or a new listener. She is an accomplihed poet/songstress who has heart, guts, and soul.Stevie is a beautiful artist and Rocks on!
Free Music Review: Must Have!! Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this box set back when it first came out. I was in high school at the time and had to sweet talk my dad into some cash. It was worth it. I was introduced to Stevie, as most of us where, through Fleetwood Mac but it has been her solo work that has become the soundtrack to my life. I dont' take that lightly. Her songs have gotten me though days I thought would never end. I know it sounds corny but her voice has the rare ability to calm me and her words to inspire me. Few people find an artist that can truly touch there soul with there work and I feel greatful to have found Stevie. I wish that feeling for everyone. I actually am going to buy another copy of the box set as I have worn out my 3 cds. I didn't know you could wear them out!! I also suggest the soundtrack to Pratical Magic for all Stevie fans. If you purchase it simply for the Stevie songs "Crystal" and "If You Ever Did Believe" it is totally worth it. Those are 2 of my favorite Stevie songs. If you love Stevie you will love this box set and even if your just a Mac fan it's worth the buy.

Free Music Review: Skip Timespace, and be Enchanted! Hit: 5 Stars
As cynical as I and many others are of 'box sets', this one is stellar. I have loved so much of Stevie's work, however there are some 'gaps' in creativity that span across some of her later works. Enchanted successfully captures the FINEST moments of her career in this 'timespace'. The 'best of' CD just doesn't do it, as the extra selections included here are worth the price of admission, as well as a lot of great bonus stuff on the third CD where she is singing, but is not the 'headliner'. They did a great job at capturing her finest stuff without filling it with demo tape or garage/bathroom recorded fodder. Yes, there are a few rarities and demos, but the core of this collection is the best of Stevie. I must admit that I think her voice just sends me elsewhere, and I imagine as a fan you would not have even read this far - the casual SN fan should just buy 'Bella Donna' and go from there. To capture even more, Enchanted does that!! I think the goal of this set was to present you with all of what Stevie is about, and it accomplishes it very well.
