I must be getting old or bored with dance music. It's really hard to distinguish the difference between these 7 updated dance remixes of Stevie Nicks' Stand Back. They did try to preserve the original feel to the song without the dated electronical sound of the 80's. Instead it is the trendy electronical dance sound of the past 15 years.
There is no radio edit of 4 or 5 minutes here. The first mix clocks in at 11:26. The short version is the 3rd track "Tracy Takes Me Home Mixshadow" mix-6:53. My favorite would have to be the 5th track "Ralphi's Beefy Retro Mix" -7:30. It's clear, direct and a little retro.
This coincides with the release of Crystal Vison:The Best Of Stevie Nicks collection which includes the original version. After 70 minutes of remixes of the same song. I am tired...lol!

I was let down by 90% of this maxi-single. I think we have all heard that same thump-thump techno beat over and over so much in remixes just to add it to Stand Back is just a let down. You'd think the remixers would say ok this is classic 80's Nicks lets stay true to the original song... they all failed but one! The Morgan Page Vox Remix is by far the best, It stays true to the original song and giving the remix a little extra beat.edge that doesn;t hurt the classic Stand Back fans know and love. The rest thump-thump remix beats we have heard a million times before on everyone elses track to me that thunp-thump is old and if you can't remix better than that and off course that splash-down effect of the aftermath of explosion then you aren't original and you are rehashing the rehash.Free Music Review: Great For the Stevie Collector

I have to agree with other recent reviews. After 70 min of the same song with remixes that all sound a like, it gets a tad boring.
HOWEVER, if you love Stevie like myself and many others, you need this single. It's only a limited edition maxi-single, apparently they're only pressing 1000 copies so scoop it up if you can.
As for the remixes, I'm not really impressed. Radio edits should have been included or even remixes of other Stevie classics. I try not to complain much about any Stevie merchendise. So if your a Nicks fan or Dance fan, or both than jump on this cd.

Awesome mixes of a classic song - as a DJ, definitely will put this one to good use... like others have said, not something you want to ride around and listen to too much else you'd get sick of the song itself - haha! This is a great remix - the one that should have been done 15 years ago, and now finally has been. A must for all Stevie fans. I like version 3 & 5 best. I'm not sure if these are all new vocals ala "Dreams" or just re-mixed?? I think they're new vocals.
