Free Music Notes for In StepFree Music Review: FAVORITE AND VERY BEST STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN CD Hit: 5 Stars
In Step is by far my favorite Stevie Ray Vaughan cd! From the first note of The House is Rockin', we hear Stevie Ray blasting off with what is the best rock blues guitar playing that you will ever hear. Nine hard-driven songs later, Stevie Ray Vaughan plays the beautiful and sublime Riviera Paradise. Next is a short informative speech by Stevie Ray and then come four live tracks, which are my favorites. On In Step Stevie Ray does a very cool job of singing. His strong voice is the perfect compliment to his strong music. Double Trouble provides excellent musical support. In Step was recorded shorthly after Stevie Ray kicked drugs. Maybe it is his new found sobriety that makes In Step sound so fantastic. Whatever the reason(s)for its brilliance, In Step is a masterpiece of rock blues! In Step has my highest positive recommendation.

Free Music Review: SRV - where would you have gone next? Hit: 5 Stars
To each his own, as they say. In my book the 2nd best SRV album. The material is awesome, however a little too polished. If he'd been able to capture the raw tone of the Texas Flood album, In Step would have been his best. But I always get warm fuzzies when I listen to In Step and wonder where SRV would have gone next? My favorite track on the CD is "Leave my little girl alone", and although I will always defend SRV, I will agree with my fellow country-man from Korsoer in saying that he is holding back a little too much here. But SRV did have the pipes to pull that tune off though - just listen to the Austin City Limits version found on "Best of #2". He got out there alright. But enough babble - if you don't have this album, you better let Amazon send you a copy right now. One of the top 25 blues albums of all time!
Free Music Review: im not a kid, im 16 i just dident know my moms password Hit: 5 Stars
all the other SRV fans have already told u how great this album is im just here to talk about the bonus track "life without you" (live). the studio version is good but this version is so much better, words cannot describe how i feel about it. its expanded by about 10 minutes and includes one of stevies free form raps. But what makes me love it so much is the expression and raw emotion stevie puts into every note. i close my eyes when i listen to it and i get this indescribable feeling and enter this state of mind were nothing else matters or even exists. it sounds corny i know, but that is the power that this song has. anyways i think i will wrap up my seemingly crazy description of the song and my feelings for it. i love the rest of the album to but this is my favorite track. please, dont hesitate in buying it.
Free Music Review: Stevies Final album Hit: 5 Stars
In Step proved to be SRV's final album. He was in top form and saved his best for last. This CD is a departure of his other albums. There is less blues and more Rock and Roll in this one. It does have some great guitar licks
When the House is A Rocking, is a high energy Rocker with killer guitar as only SRV can play it.
Crossfire is another killer song, again with great guitar.
Tightrope follows and is another great guitar song.
He also does the Buddy Guy classic, You better leave my Girl Alone.
This entire album is very high energy guitar from the blues master. No SRV collection is complete without this album. Its a shame we have lost SRV, but at least he finished his musical career on a high not.........rest in peace SRV
Free Music Review: Simply His Best Work Hit: 5 Stars
Stevie Ray Vaughn is an awesome guitarist. However, what elevates this record to a best by artist level is the super work by keyboard player Reese Wynas. Not to take anything away from the solid rhythm section of Shannon and Layton, but Reese Wynas is a perfect foil to Stevie Ray. The solos on Travis Walk and Riveria Paradise are simply stunning and the background sounds on Tightrope, Crossfire, and Wall of Denial are very noteworthy as well. Some people may criticize Stevie's singing. However, I find his stylings loaded with passion and the blues. I have the cassette version so I do not have the extra tracks. However, I am familiar with the extra songs particularly Life Without You. Therefore, five stars is the final verdict.
