Free Music Notes for Texas FloodFree Music Review: Stevie Ray Vaughn.......Guitar Legend Hit: 5 Stars
Ok, who is this Bonnie chick? She obviously cannot judge talent because lets see her try to play with as much compassion and dedication as Stevie did. The man is one of the GREATEST guitarists to ever pick up a Strat. All of those people she mentioned I have never even heard of and probably wouldn't care listening to them anyways. Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Angelo, all of those guys are good guitar players.
Free Music Review: Wow! Hit: 5 Stars
Untill about four months ago I detested the blues, in any form, then came along Stevie Ray Vaughan. I listined to this album, and I changed my mind. Now four months later I am heavily into the blues. I like John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Bo Diddly, and people like that. You could say that SRV is a gateway artist. He is also an amazing guitar player who has never ending asortment of ideas on how to play the guitar.
Free Music Review: An essential blues guitar album Hit: 5 Stars
Texas Flood is awesome. SRV's playing is impassioned and spectacular as always. Several of his most well-known songs are here, and they're all great. This is one killer pure guitar album. Gotta knock a point for originality, though, as I'm Cryin' sounds EXACTLY like Pride And Joy, just with different lyrics. Still a 5-star album though. Stevie Ray's lyrics are forgettable, but his guitar-playing is earth-shattering.
Free Music Review: A must have. Hit: 5 Stars
This is Stevie in his early days. I captures his fire, intensity and vast range. From such raw guitar based tracks like "Wham!" to the essential blues numbers like "Texas Flood" and "Dirty Pool". This CD also shows Stevie's soft Jazzy side with a melodic tribute to his wife on "Lenny". If you are interested in Stevie Ray Vaughn you have got to have this CD.
Free Music Review: THIS IS THE ONE OF THE GREATEST BLUES ALBUMS EVER! Hit: 5 Stars
This album features Stevie at his best, with great tone, too. He does a great version of L. C. Davis's "Texas Flood" also. In fact a local radio station just had some kind of a 100 best solos ever, and "Texas Flood" came out first. This to me is not one of those albums where you hear it and there are "filler" songs, they are all 5 stars. GREAT ALBUM!
