Free Music Notes for Texas FloodFree Music Review: Great Hit: 5 Stars
Despite what that little troll kid had to say this is great
stuff. He is no different than the rest of the waste that
is today's teenagers. I'm only 23 years old and I'm already
SICK of today's modern day teenagers. They have made it to
where I don't want kids... EVER.
Now onto the review... This is Stevie's best stuff here..
The best songs are
Texas Flood
Love struck baby
Mary had a little lamb
Pride and Joy
Testify
It's just good music that you can't find in today's music.
This is pure talent.... Something bands like Linkin Park
and Limp Biskit would know nothing about.
Free Music Review: As Dick Betts said, "thank GOD for Stevie Ray Vaughn" Hit: 5 Stars
I remember reading about this smoking guitar player out of Austin Texas in early 1983. Couple months later I was in the record store and I looking for a new guitar album to buy. I look down and see this guy with a strat and a gun slinger look. Then I remembered what I read. So of course I bought it. Put it in my cassette player in my car and was totally blown away. That tone, those smoking licks and solo's. That was really the last time I was really blown out of the water by a guitarist. I mean, who can live up to this guy. He was the whole package. Great songs, good vocals, great rhythm section. I think SRV is the best blues rock guitarist to walk on this planet. I miss him....
Free Music Review: One of the best debuts in Rock or blues history Hit: 5 Stars
Texas Flood is the debut album of SRV. Very few debut albums can ever be compared to this one.
Stevie Ray has four of his finest songs on this album.
The songs are, Love Struck Baby, Pride and Joy which is probably his signature song..
Texas Flood in my mind is his finest blues song of his career.
Rude Mood is another song of note.
What you have here is the master doing his thing. SRV is probably the finest blues player ever (some might argue Eric Clapton or Jimi Hendrix)
We do know one thing. SRV has left his legacy for all of those who love the blues.
His guitarmanship is is one album to savor.
Free Music Review: A first for Stevie... a must for you! Hit: 5 Stars
This being the very first studio album of Stevie Ray and Double trouble makes it only that much sweeter. With the album-titled track "Texas Flood", Stevie takes you on a journey of musical mastery and fluid blues stylings that will leave you gape-jawed and wanting more. Take a listen to "Rude Mood" the instrumental, and like myself, you will wonder if maybe Stevie had all 10 fingers on his left hand. This man was inceredible, and a sad loss to the music industry. This being the first album of the blues trio... I would highly reccomend it to any fans!! Added bonus... Stevie speaks from the grave in his interview! Grab this one before it gets away!
Free Music Review: more than just a great recording Hit: 5 Stars
As amazing as this album was, what it did for blues and the great blues artists of the past was even more important. When the original version of this album arrived it opened the floodgates for a generation of music fans to all those great artists and revitalized (well deserved) the careers of many greats (Buddy Guy for example) which are now stronger than ever. If you really want to feel the hairs stand up on the back of your neck, get his video "Live at El Mocambo", which was recorded during SRV's tour in support of Texas Flood. As great as he was on album, nothing compared to his live performances.
