Free Music Review: Collaborative Efforts
Hit: 3 Stars

This disc does not focus on Stevie Ray Vaughan's music, but rather Stevie Ray Vaughan's musicianship. These cuts are all in guest appearances on other artist's tracks. The Vaughan tone is easily recognizable and some tracks, such "Albert's Shuffle," are almost a head cutting contest. It is not the overall rocked up Texas blues experience that his studio albums were but it's definitely a look for any SRV fan.

Free Music Review: RAITT ruined this one !
Hit: 3 Stars

I think Bonnie Raitt totally ruined "Texas Flood" on this one. She sounds way off key from SRV. YUCK !

Free Music Review: I didn't believe these reviews (LOVE SRV, but Not this Album)
Hit: 2 Stars

If you are a fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan ?? Well, I guess it depends on how ... "Fanatical" a fan you are ?
If you think ANYTHING he was ever involved in was Great? You will love this just as well.
If you Loved his talent and skills as an artist, and Really Liked HIS Music ?--- I think your going to be Disappointed.

I didn't believe the Negative Reviews on the page. They all seemed to get lost in a metaphysical "Hissy Fit" over the Evil Corrupt Record Companies continuing to "Milk" poor SRV after his death. Their complaints sounded more like comments on society and less about the Music.

I Love SRV's Music, his Talent as a Musician, I could only Pray to ever have as much ability as just one of his fingers. I Love His Music......Sadly, This Is Not His Music.

This "Album" is really just a collection of studio tracks and some music from other artists albums where SRV was "Sitting in" and maybe "Playing a few licks"
This is Stevie helping out Other Artists, Not Stevie "Doing his own Thing"

Some of these tracks ..... My God, If you didn't TELL ME Stevie played on them, I would NEVER Have Guessed --- and Probably would have argued with you even after you told me. There are a few that are downright Silly Sounding, others are just annoying. The Live version of "The Sky is Crying" is Great, Good Stevie and the Bright Spot on this otherwise dismal album. a few other tracks didn't make me want to scream for my money back, but I honestly can't say I would have Happily PAID for them, if I had Known what I was in for either.

Overall, Im VERRRRRYYY DISAPOINTED in this. I already have Two version of "Sky Crying" on other albums. While it is different here and has some other "Great's" playing on the track, it is not enough to have a 3rd copy of ONE SONG that was great, with a few so, so's and quite a few "Turn That Stuff Off's" to make this an album worth recommending.

Again, for Hard Core SRV FANATICS anything he touched, looked at, smelled or smiled at, you will love, and that includes this.

For those of us who Really Loved "HIS SOUND", Be Warned, Your Not Going to Hear His Sound Here.

Free Music Review: Very Disappointed...
Hit: 2 Stars

I just finished listening to this CD for the second time and I actually liked it less the second time than the first. It was hard getting through all of the songs completely as I would listen as long as possible and then just skip to the next. I have to agree with the reviewers who feel this is just another attempt at the record labels to try and squeeze every last dollar they can get out of us using a deceased artist. The couple of ok unreleased songs on this CD surely do not justify the $13.97 price tag. If it was $7 or $8 maybe. But basically full price is not justified here. The versions of the songs that you have already heard are not the best versions out there. "Goin Down" with Jeff Beck is my favorite but a similar version is on the box set. That being said if you are a SRV fan like me you will probably buy it anyway. Maybe after a dozen more listens it will grow on me (I hope!!)
Please note, Stevie does not sing on most of these songs and in some instances it is very difficult to pick out his guitar due to the poor editing of this cd.

Free Music Review: someone should be ashamed!
Hit: 2 Stars

Talk about pillaging the legacy of the great Stevie Ray Vaughan! The record company takes a few previously unreleased tunes (which are available on bootlegs), tacks on a few more duets, and then prices it a damn near $20.00 with tax. There have been some excellent releases from Vaughan's vaults, but this is not one of them by a longshot. Save your money and pass this rip off up. Shame on whoever put this out.
